NYSNA nurses at Oneida Health Hospital refuse to be bullied! Last night, hospital management presented a "final" offer to nurses and walked away from the bargaining table, refusing to continue negotiations before their contract expires tonight at midnight. Their offer does not do nearly enough to ensure that patients receive the best care possible and was an insult to the frontline nurses.

For months, nurses at Oneida have been fighting for a contract with enforceable staffing plans, a plan to retain experienced nurses, and fair and respectful wages and benefits. Without a fair contract, nurses are not able to provide the safe, quality patient care this community deserves. Oneida Health, it's time to listen to your nurses, return to the bargaining table, and settle the fair contract that nurses and patients deserve!

Shoutout to nurses at Westchester Medical Center who marched on the boss and delivered a petition with over 1,400 signatures to CNO Phyllis Yezzo to say “Hands Off Our Healthcare!” Recently, Westchester Medical Center unilaterally made changes to nurses’ healthcare and dental benefits without informing NYSNA members. The changes raised deductibles and switched members to a dental HMO! This isn’t the first time that Westchester Med has attempted to make changes to benefits behind the nurses’ backs. Nurses are ready to keep making their voices heard and win again!

Nurses at Centerlight Healthcare are advocating for better working conditions and improved patient care. They are negotiating a new union contract and have faced significant challenges and resistance from management. Now management is threatening to cut their healthcare benefits at the end of the year!

Sign the petition to demand that Centerlight Healthcare negotiate a fair contract that protects the health and safety of nurses and patients in the NYC area!

Congratulations to nurse practitioners (NPs) working at One Brooklyn Health System’s Interfaith Medical Center and One Brooklyn Health System at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center on becoming the newest members of our NYSNA family! NYSNA’s NP bargaining committee negotiated and won strong wage increases, inclusion in NYSNA Health Benefits and Pension Plan, and union rights with strong contract enforcement. Albany Med Health System, when it comes to patient safety, it's time to listen to the nurses! Instead, management chooses to hide behind closed press conferences, PR blitzes, and even file a meritless lawsuit. Management should come to the bargaining table in good faith and negotiate a fair contract. Enough is enough.

Shoutout to nurses at Carthage Hospital who gathered for a workshop to learn about the power of protest of assignment (POA) forms in their fight for safe staffing. With the winter weather coming in strong in the North Country, rural hospital systems once again face the challenges that come with it. The workshop empowered new nurses with the tools and education to provide safe patient care and protect their practice.

Huge win for nurses at The Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai Morningside!

Within two weeks, arbitrators awarded financial remedies of over $1 million to nurses who worked understaffed. The arbitration awards amounted to $900,000 to nurses in the Mount Sinai Hospital Emergency Department, and more than $100,000 to ICU 7E nurses at Mount Sinai Morningside. These victories are a direct result of the great work nurses did to record staffing issues, and their active participation in the arbitration process.

NYSNA nurses are showing that when they take action to enforce a strong contract, they can hold hospitals accountable for chronic understaffing. Congratulations, nurses!

“I know what we deserve," Kathryn Dupuis, RN said. "I know what we need to do to staff the hospital appropriately. I know what we need in order to provide the best care for our patients. And that contract, that proposal, is not going to do that."

NYSNA nurses at Albany Medical Center refuse to be bullied! For months, nurses have been sounding the alarm about the staffing crisis at the hospital and bargaining for the fair contract that nurses and patients deserve. Albany Med's so-called "final offer" doesn't do nearly enough to guarantee the safe staffing, fair wages and benefits, and union voice that nurses need to provide safe, quality patient care for the capital region.

Albany Med Health System—it's time to listen to your nurses—settle a fair contract and invest in safe patient care for our community!

Nurses at Mount Sinai South Nassau have been fighting to win their first union contract. However, management has yet to deliver a fair contract with the safe staffing and respectful wages and benefits that nurses deserve. Yesterday, they launched a mobile billboard and spoke out on the informational picket line to send a clear message: "Nurses and patients need a fair contract now!"

Show our Mount Sinai South Nassau nurses some love and solidarity!
