Mirrored dance video : FINALLY EXPLAINED

Energy is one of those things that can completely change how a dance feels.

But the tricky part isn’t always giving more.

A choreography might need 100% on one move, then 40% on the next. Sometimes the music asks for something sharp and powerful, sometimes softer and more relaxed.

Learning to dance is also learning how to control that energy, and when to change it.

Same steps. Very different result.

Save this and try the same move at 20%, 50% and 100%.

Hip isolations are one of those foundations that make so many dance moves feel easier 👇

Try this:
1. Soften your knees
2. Place your hands on your hips and keep your chest as still as you can
3. Push your hips forward → right → back → left
4. Repeat, then change direction
5. Finish with 2 big circles + 3 smaller ones each way

Follow the lime dot and focus on moving your hips without letting your shoulders follow.

It might feel strange at first. That’s the point. You’re teaching your body to move one part independently from the rest.

📌 Save this one for your next practice.

When you watch dancers like Sœurs Bégin, it can genuinely feel like: “There’s no way my body can do that.”

Turns out, sometimes it can. You just need a different way to learn it.

Smaller sections. Slower speeds. Lots of repetition. Enough time for the movement to actually sink in.

By the end, she wasn’t just getting the steps. She was enjoying herself.

That’s exactly why we built Mave.

Old-school hip-hop basic we call: the Monastery 👟

Why is this move great to learn? Because it gets you working on your groove, coordination and weight shifts all at once. And once you have it, you’ll start recognising the same foundations in lots of other hip-hop steps.
It might look hard at first, but once you break down the arms and the footwork, it’s actually pretty accessible.

Here’s how to do it slowly, then at medium tempo, until you’re ready for full speed.

Is this another move from the Beyoncé dance routine many of you have already learned on Mave? Yes 👀

Save this to practice 💾

It’s official 👀

We’ve partnered with , the creator behind the viral Say My Name choreography, to bring his dance to mave.

So if you’ve watched it thinking “this is spicy 🌶️🤌 I wish I could do that”… now you can actually learn it.

We’ve broken the choreography down into small sections, slowed everything down and built a step-by-step learning path designed for beginners.

No trying to keep up with a full-speed video. No guessing what comes next.

Just learn it one move at a time.

Say My Name by is now available on mave💜 comment “Eder” and I’ll send you the link to get free access

One of the most common reasons people give for not starting dance?

“I’m too old. It’s too late.”

We say no.

Learning a new skill can take patience, repetition and a bit of discipline at any age. But there is no deadline for starting something you want to learn.

And while we’re here… we spotted these two beautiful dancers having the best time at and were completely mesmerised by them.

Does anyone know who they are? We’d love to send them the video 🤍

If you want to dance, dance.
