Cure SMA Make Today A Breakthrough
This #SMAAwarenessMonth, we're joining Cure SMA in sharing stories and experiences of those in the #SMA community.
Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a rare genetic condition where muscles throughout the body are weakened, due to cells in the spinal cord and brainstem not working properly. SMA is also the number one genetic cause of infant mortality.
By sharing stories like the video below, we hope to do a small part in supporting the research, advocacy, and support services needed today by those affected by the disease. #CureSMA

Understanding Clinical Trials
#ClinicalTrials are research studies that are aimed at evaluating a medical, surgical, or behavioral intervention. They're the primary way that researchers find out if a new treatment – like a new drug, diet, or medical device (for example, a pacemaker) is safe and effective in people.
In our "Understanding Clinical Trials" video, patients learn about what a clinical trial is, how they work and why they're important.
