Apheresis isn't only used for cholesterol disorders.

LIPOSORBER is also FDA-authorized under a Humanitarian Device Exemption for eligible patients with primary Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), a rare kidney disease that can lead to serious kidney damage when standard treatments fail.

Awareness can help patients discover additional treatment options and connect with knowledgeable care teams sooner.

For eligible patients with drug-resistant or recurrent FSGS, studies have reported approximately 50% complete or partial remission following treatment with Liposorber as part of the overall management approach.

What happens when healthy lifestyle choices and maximum medications still aren't enough to manage severe Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH)? 🧬

FH Awareness Day is an opportunity to identify patients who may benefit from additional treatment options. For high-risk individuals with severe FH, dangerously elevated LDL-C or Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] can persist despite best efforts.

That is where advanced cardiovascular treatment options come in. The LIPOSORBER® System performs targeted lipoprotein apheresis, selectively removing atherogenic lipoproteins directly from the bloodstream.

If you or a loved one is struggling to control severe FH, talk to your specialist about whether lipoprotein apheresis is right for your treatment plan.

❌ Myth: Lipoprotein apheresis treatment is too expensive and difficult to access.
âś… Fact: Kaneka offers a dedicated reimbursement team that works with treatment sites on coding, coverage, and operational support to help streamline access to LIPOSORBER treatment.

If you've been told that advanced treatment options are out of reach, know that support is available. Reimbursement advocates can help guide patients through the insurance process and connect them with resources to access LIPOSORBER treatment.

Talk to your healthcare team about available coverage and support resources.

Did you know? High cholesterol isn't always caused by lifestyle – it can be genetic. Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH) is an inherited condition that can cause extremely high cholesterol from birth.

For certain high-risk FH patients who are unable to achieve adequate LDL-C and/or Lp(a) control despite maximum tolerated therapy, LIPOSORBER® may be a treatment option.

Talk with your healthcare provider if:
âś… You have been clinically diagnosed with FH
âś… Your LDL-C and/or Lp(a) remains severely elevated despite diet & medication
âś… You've experienced cardiovascular disease or events despite controlled lipid management

Early diagnosis and intervention can make a difference.
