We are excited to welcome Dungeon-masters Dylan McCormick and Grant T Cox II to The Serpent and The Dove. They will be facilitating two highly interactive “Candlekeep Mystery” campaign sessions.

Dylan and Grant are highly experienced players, gamers, and enthusiasts. Dylan is a long-time and highly experienced Dungeon Master, with advanced degrees in English and Education Administration. Apprentice Dungeon Master, Grant, is a devoted gamer with years of experience playing and writing for D&D, with degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice.

The best campaigns are created together, we hope to see you there.

Medusa takes her seat in The Reading Room this month. There is no other story I could spotlight right now.

There are monsters in the night. Some have always been there. Some have very flattering portraits hanging in important buildings.

Medusa gives us a story to pull apart, a place to examine the horrors around us through the stories we’ve inherited.

The hero and the villain. Whose truth is believed? Who tells the story? Who is rewarded, who is punished?

What happens when the woman we stare at turns around and stares back?

Come read closely. Ask uncomfortable questions. See what happens when we stop taking the storyteller’s word for it..

Clips from my 45 minute deep dive into the Lughnasadh and Lammas season for our Sabbat Curriculum and Celebration attendees tomorrow night. We love books here, lol. We love all the books, especially books by critical thinkers and historians. 🤓Grounding into what we know, as much as we know, without creating the Divine or the world in our image is the sweet spot of our practice. What do we know? What can we challenge? What does a contemporary lens, better yet, making ourselves "other" and leaning into the lens of our neighbors and friends that have different lenses. The world is so magic - myths, history, legend, practice, ancient texts, contemporary rants, what's mine, what's yours, what's shared, what's a lie, what's grounded in fact, what's grounded in ultimate mystery, what's a historical lens reveal, what's my heart say, what's your heart tell you - and the immeasurable horizon of possibility.

Anyway - Lughnasadh and Lammas blessings from this nerd. May your harvest be abundant and full of joy!
