Getting no matches on dating apps? Your profile might be the problem, not you 💥
If you’re swiping and barely getting matches, don’t immediately assume something is wrong with you.

Someone asked Martine:
“I keep swiping and getting no matches on apps… could it be my photos? Any advice on that, or on prompts?”
Here’s what Martine wants you to consider:
1️⃣ Start with your photos.
Are they recent? Do they actually look like you today? Your profile should give someone an authentic sense of who they’re going to meet.
2️⃣ Show your life, not just your face.
Your photos can tell a story. Love to travel? Include a photo from a trip. Big sports fan? Show yourself at a game. Give people something to connect with.
3️⃣ Let your personality come through.
Your profile shouldn’t just answer, “What do you look like?” It should make someone curious about who you are.
4️⃣ Think about what makes you YOU.
Your interests, personality, lifestyle and the things you’re genuinely excited about can help the right person see a reason to start a conversation.
5️⃣ Give people something to respond to.
Your photos and prompts should create openings for someone to say, “Wait, tell me more about that.”
6️⃣ Don’t measure your worth in matches.
A dating app is one platform with one set of algorithms and a limited snapshot of who you are. The number of matches you get does not determine your value.
The goal isn’t to create the profile that gets the most matches.
It’s to create a profile that authentically represents you and attracts people who are actually interested in getting to know you.
And sometimes, the right profile isn’t about looking more impressive.
It’s about letting people see more of who you already are.
