Warmed up… and then sat in holding for an hour?

By the time your number is called, your body has completely cooled down, and starting from scratch right before you step into the room is the last thing you want.

Here’s the thing: your warm-up doesn’t have to be long, and it definitely shouldn’t be one-and-done.

Try these simple strategies to stay audition-ready without burning out in the waiting room:

✨ Keep it efficient: A 5-minute standing warm-up in a small corner of holding is all you need—no floor space or equipment required. Goal: feel ready, not tired.

✨ Re-warm, don’t restart: Don’t repeat your whole routine. Keep blood flowing so you aren’t starting from zero when your group is called.

✨ Take “movement snacks”: Get up, walk around, move your joints, and gently elevate your heart rate in small bursts throughout the wait.

When your number gets called, you want to walk in confident, primed, and ready to perform.

Happy 5th Birthday to FlySpace! 🎉✨

For 5 years we’ve loved keeping dancers and broadway performers moving, healing and Flying High.

To celebrate, here are 5 key lessons from our work with performing artists!

Thank you for trusting us with your health and artistry. Here’s to many more years! 🥂🩵

1. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

That goes for individual rehab and for building health and wellness services for a production. Every person, every show, and every space is different - and deserves an individualized approach.

2. Health is about more than just your body.

Supporting health, well-being, and recovery means paying attention to the whole person—including nutrition, mental health, sleep, social support, and more.

3. Warming up and cooling down really matter.

Building both into your day can help prepare your body for the demands of the show, support recovery afterward, and help you feel more connected and embodied in your performance.

4. Take care of the small things before they become big things.

Addressing an issue early often takes less time, is less disruptive, and can help keep a small problem from becoming something that interferes with your work.

5. Don’t take yourself too seriously.

The work matters—but so does having fun, staying curious, and finding some joy along the way.

When Broadway comes together, incredible things happen. ❤️

What an incredible Sunday supporting !

The FlySpace team joined forces with an amazing group of physical therapists, physicians, and administrative volunteers to support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and we’re deeply grateful for everyone who shows up year after year to make this event possible.

serves as a lifeline for countless individuals during times of need. Our volunteer medical team provided 144 physical therapy triage appointments, helping performers, crew members, and creative teams stay healthy, safe, and moving throughout an extraordinary day.

Watching the performing arts medicine community come together with so much generosity, expertise, and joy reminds us exactly why we do this work. We’re incredibly proud to stand alongside so many dedicated volunteers and to care for the artists who give so much of themselves.

To everyone who donated your time, your skills, and your heart—thank you. We truly are better together.
