🎀 Pink October is more than a reminder to wear pink. It’s a reminder to make your health part of your routine.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women worldwide. And while factors such as age, family history, certain genetic changes, alcohol use and excess body weight can affect risk, many people who develop breast cancer have no known family history of the disease.
So, what can you do?
💗 Know what’s normal for your body.
A new lump or thickening, changes in breast shape or skin, ni**le changes or unusual discharge can be signs that should always be checked by a healthcare professional.
🩺 Keep up with recommended screening.
What you need and when can depend on your age, where you live, your family history and your individual risk. Talk to a healthcare professional about what’s right for you.
🧬 Know your family history.
Breast or ovarian cancer in close relatives may influence your risk and the follow-up recommended for you.
🌱 Take care of your overall health.
Staying active, limiting alcohol, avoiding to***co and building healthy habits may help reduce cancer risk.
And Elfie can help make health part of your everyday routine, helping you track your health, manage your medications and stay engaged with healthier habits over time.
Because prevention shouldn’t be something we think about only in October. 💗
Is there a health check or conversation you’ve been putting off?
