This is actually one of my favorite parts of my story.

I became a doula before I became a doctor.

My first real exposure to pregnancy, labor, and birth wasn’t from a textbook or a hospital chart. It was sitting beside patients, supporting them, watching what they needed, what they feared, what made them feel heard, and where the gaps were.

That perspective stayed with me through medical school, residency, and every patient encounter since.

It made me a better doctor.

But it also made me more aware of the things traditional medical care can miss. The emotional support. The context. The questions that come up in between visits. The experience of the person actually living through the pregnancy.

DoulaDoc was built with both of those perspectives in mind.

The doctor who understands the medicine.

And the doula who knows how important it is to sit beside you through it. 🤍

I’m an OB/GYN, and I think this is one of the biggest gaps in pregnancy care.

We are really good at monitoring pregnancies. Checking blood pressure, tracking growth, ordering labs, identifying complications, and preparing for delivery.

And all of that is incredibly important.

But what about everything happening between those appointments?

The anxiety after a test result. The questions you forgot to ask. The decisions you’re trying to make. The relationships changing. The pressure to somehow know what you’re doing when you’ve never done this before.

Those things matter, too.

I became a doula and created DoulaDoc because I believe pregnancy care should go beyond what we can fit into a prenatal appointment.

You deserve excellent medical care AND someone in your corner helping you navigate everything else.

That’s exactly why I created The Pregnancy Coach.

If you’re pregnant and wishing you had that kind of support, **DM me COACH.** I’d love to hear what you’re navigating. 🤍

One of the most important things I want my patients to understand is that this is YOUR pregnancy. Not mine.

As an OB/GYN, my job isn’t to make every decision for you. It’s to give you the information, explain your options, help you understand the risks and benefits, and support you in making decisions that feel right for you.

And here’s something else I want you to know: medicine doesn’t have all the answers.

Pregnancy can be unpredictable. Plans change. New concerns come up. Sometimes, despite all the testing and monitoring in the world, we don’t have a perfect explanation for why something is happening.

But not having every answer doesn’t mean you should be left feeling confused, dismissed, or alone.

You deserve a provider who is honest with you, who listens, who takes your concerns seriously, and who helps you navigate the unexpected.

You’re the main character in your pregnancy story. I’m just here to help you navigate the plot twists. 🤍

And I’m curious, have you ever felt like you weren’t part of the decision-making process during your own medical care?

Both things can be true.
You can love your OB/GYN, trust your medical team, and feel confident in the care you’re receiving.
And still leave an appointment with a million questions.
Still feel overwhelmed by everything you’re supposed to know.
Still wish you had someone to talk to about the parts of pregnancy that don’t fit neatly into a 15-minute appointment.
That’s not a reflection of bad medical care. It’s a reflection of how much pregnancy asks of us, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
As an OB/GYN and trained doula, I see this gap all the time. It’s one of the biggest reasons I created DoulaDoc.
I’m curious, what’s something you wish you had more support with during pregnancy?
Tell me in the comments or send me a DM. I’d genuinely love to hear. 🤍

Pregnancy can be normal and still be really hard.

Nausea can be normal. Exhaustion can be normal. Anxiety, overwhelm, body changes, uncertainty… all of it can be part of pregnancy.

But “normal” shouldn’t mean you’re expected to just deal with it alone.

You deserve to understand what’s happening, know what to look out for, ask questions, feel validated, and have support for the parts of pregnancy that don’t always fit neatly into a prenatal appointment.

That’s a huge part of why I created DoulaDoc.

Because you deserve more than “yep, that’s normal.”

You deserve context. Support. Reassurance. A place to ask the questions that come up in between visits.

If you’re pregnant and wishing you had more support along the way, DM me SUPPORT. 🤍

There is no shortage of pregnancy information.

You can Google symptoms.
Listen to podcasts.
Read the books.
Save the posts.
Ask a question in a Facebook group.

And still feel completely unsure about what applies to you.
That’s the gap I created Pregnancy Coach to fill.

This isn’t another course or library of information to work through on your own.

It’s having an OB/GYN and trained doula in your corner throughout pregnancy to help you talk through the questions, decisions, fears, changes, and moments that don’t fit neatly into a prenatal appointment.

The things you’re still thinking about after your appointment ends.

The decision you keep going back and forth on.
The question you’re worried is too small to ask.
The part of becoming a mom that no one seems to be preparing you for.

You don’t have to figure all of that out alone.

If you’re pregnant and thinking, this is exactly what I’ve been missing, DM me COACH.

I’ll tell you more about Pregnancy Coach and we can see if it feels like the right kind of support for you.

Where’s the instruction manual for your body during pregnancy?
Because suddenly everything feels different.

Your energy. Your appetite. Your sleep. Your digestion. Your emotions. Your skin. Your brain. Even parts of your body you never thought twice about before.

And then comes the constant question:
Is this normal?

Pregnancy brings so much change, but very little time to actually understand what’s happening and why.

You deserve more than Googling symptoms at 2am or waiting weeks for your next appointment to ask the question that’s been sitting in the back of your mind.

You deserve to understand your changing body, know what’s normal, recognize when something deserves a call to your provider, and feel confident navigating what comes next.

There may not be an instruction manual for pregnancy, but you shouldn’t have to figure it all out alone. 🤍

That’s exactly why I created DoulaDoc.

You get pregnant and suddenly you’re supposed to know how to do all of this.

What’s normal. What isn’t. What’s happening to your body. How to manage the emotions. How to make decisions about your care. How to prepare for birth. How to prepare for motherhood.

All while continuing to work, take care of your family, manage your relationships, and live your regular life.

Where exactly is the instruction manual for that?

There isn’t one.

And as an OB/GYN, trained doula, and mom, I’ve seen how heavy that can feel. I’ve experienced the worry and loneliness myself.

Pregnancy care can monitor the physical while still making space for the mental, emotional, and social parts of becoming a mother.

We can support moms better.

That’s why I created DoulaDoc.

If you’re pregnant and wondering where to even begin, my free video series and live webinar series were created to help you get grounded, understand what’s happening, and feel supported along the way.

You don’t have to figure all of this out alone. 🤍

Somewhere along the way, we started equating being a “good mom” with how much of herself a woman is willing to give up.

Her time. Her sleep. Her career. Her friendships. Her needs. Her identity.
But constantly putting yourself last isn’t the requirement for good motherhood we’ve made it out to be.

Your children don’t only learn from how you care for them.
They’re watching how you care for you.
They’re learning whether rest has to be earned. Whether asking for help is okay. Whether boundaries matter. Whether their own needs deserve space alongside the needs of the people they love.

Taking care of yourself doesn’t take away from your children.
It shows them that loving other people and loving yourself can exist at the same time.

And this is something we should be talking about before motherhood even begins.

Because preparing for motherhood isn’t only about learning how to care for a baby. It’s also about deciding how you’ll continue to care for the person you already are. 🤍
