Being unable to speak does not mean having nothing to say.

For someone living with severe paralysis, being able to express a need, make a choice, or join a conversation can make a meaningful difference in daily life. For their family, it can mean hearing directly from the person they love.

These are the possibilities that motivate our work at Precision.

Our $250 million Series D will help us expand our clinical program, advance regulatory work, and invest in the people, systems, and infrastructure needed to build toward commercialization.

There is more work ahead. Our goal is to develop brain-computer interfaces that give people more ways to communicate and greater independence in their daily lives.

We are grateful to the patients and families contributing to research, and to everyone helping us move this work forward.

Today Precision Neuroscience announced an oversubscribed $250 million Series D financing, bringing total capital raised to approximately $430 million. The financing follows years of work alongside clinicians, researchers, and research participants.

Precision has now completed more than 100 patient procedures across 18 major medical institutions and continues to advance the clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, and scientific work required to bring brain computer interface technology forward.

The new funding will help expand our clinical program, support additional FDA review, and build the infrastructure needed for the next stage of the company.

“It was like telekinesis. I felt like I had a superpower.”

That’s how Jasaun described the moment he moved a computer cursor using nothing but his thoughts.

Jasaun isn’t living with paralysis. He volunteered for this research while recovering from an unrelated procedure. What made him comfortable participating in the study was simple: the device never penetrates the brain. It sits on the surface, and afterwards it’s removed without any damage to his brain tissue.

Dr. Adnan Siddiqui, the neurosurgeon who watched it happen live, described it this way: “This is physical proof that this is what is happening indeed all over the brain all the time.”

For people who’ve lost the ability to move or speak, this points to something bigger than a research milestone. It’s a glimpse of what it could mean to reconnect: to send a message, to answer a call, stay in touch with the people you love, using thought alone.

Watch the video below, and tell us what strikes you most about it- we read every comment.

“It felt like telekinesis. I felt like I had a superpower.” That’s how one research participant described controlling a computer with nothing but thought. The trust came from something specific: Layer 7 never pierces the brain to do it.

That design choice matters for two reasons. Because the device sits on the brain’s surface instead of going into it, it can be safely removed and upgraded as the technology improves. And because it doesn’t damage brain tissue, we believe it opens the door to studying far broader patient populations than paralysis alone, a possible path toward a system that could one day reach beyond the region that controls movement.

We’re grateful to the research participants and their families, and to the clinical partner sites and physicians who make work like this possible.

A ballet dancer mid-pirouette. A goalkeeper diving for a save. In each of those moments, the brain has already decided velocity, timing, and trajectory faster than the body can carry it out, and faster than we could ever describe it. Layer 7 captures that neural activity at its source, directly from the surface of the brain- not from inside it- at native resolution, in real time, and pairs it with modern GPU compute to decode it.

This is what it looks like to finally see thought move. Learn more at precisionneuro.io.

“Mental health. This does not get enough attention in conversations about BCI. The World Health Organization estimates that roughly one in eight people worldwide—close to a billion people—live with a mental health disorder. For many of these conditions, such as treatment-resistant depression, the current therapies are simply inadequate. … What is changing now is Precision. Our system can decode signals related to a person’s emotional state, and we believe that in the coming years we can make a meaningful difference in how refractory depression is diagnosed and treated”.

Taken from a recent interview with Rebellion Research, Precision Neuroscience Co-Founder & CEO Michael Mager discusses the expanding potential of brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) beyond restoring communication and movement. The conversation explores the future of high-resolution BCIs, how minimally invasive neural interfaces could transform medicine, the engineering challenges of scaling neural technology, the role of AI in decoding brain signals, and what the next decade may hold for patients, clinicians, researchers, and the broader neuroscience community.

June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month, and we're taking a moment to recognize the remarkable organ that powers every aspect of our lives. The human brain powers every thought, movement, memory, and connection we experience. But for millions of people living with neurological conditions, injury, or disease, the pathways between the brain and the body can be interrupted, affecting their ability to communicate, interact, and engage with the world around them.

At Precision Neuroscience, we're working to better understand these neural pathways and develop brain-computer interface tech that has the potential to restore communication, independence, and connection for people living with paralysis. Every discovery brings us one step closer to unlocking new possibilities for human potential.

Following our recent Webby Award win, we're excited to share another milestone: Precision Neuroscience has been named to Fast Company's World Changing Ideas list for the second consecutive year.

This recognition underscores the progress being made in brain-computer interface (BCI) tech and the collective efforts of our team to develop solutions that can help people living with paralysis regain greater independence, communication, and connection.

Our BCI system is designed to establish a direct link between the brain and digital devices, enabling users to interact with computers, smartphones, and other technologies using only their thoughts. We're honored by this recognition and grateful to Fast Company and The Webby Awards for acknowledging our work.
