How many of us have more than one practice that we are passionate about? How many are both artists and movers? So often we have creative projects in the background, but what if we chose to pull them forward and shine some light on those talents. Mindi did this. She has a successful Pilates practice and has chosen to bring her creative Upcycled fashions into the light. Join and me this coming Wednesday at 12 EST.

Liza and I met over 20 years ago when we were both in the graduate program at
Liza was in the Dance Therapy program and I was in the Art Therapy Program. We have both moved on to develop our own wellness businesses. We continue to support each other and are in each other’s practitioner referral system.

Liza focuses on womens health and specializes in fertility treatment. She is currently working on a line of ritual baths and oils that can be purchased directly from her.

Intuition is knowing without knowing why. It’s the gut instinct. It’s our body giving us information.

It is not a gift.

There is a lot of misunderstanding that to be intuitive means to be special. As if only some people have this ability. The truth is We are ALL intuitive. It’s a human right. It can help us make honest choices that help live the best life and make the best choices for us.

The body often will be a place where messages and information will land if our brains do not cognitively interpret intuitive messages. Sometimes pain, accidents or illness can develop when we don’t listen to our intuition.

As the world continues to move into a faster pace it is so important that we begin to listen and tap into our intuition.

Knowing how you receive information can take practice. We all receive it slightly different but we ALL receive it.

There are so many reasons to love Maria and I plan to dive into some of those reasons on Wednesday. I’m just finishing a year long Graduate Pilates program with her, both online and in Spain. We will talk about this and why it’s so important to continue trainings like this even if you have been teaching in the field for years. Also her Advanced Pilates Series for teachers starts soon which is another opportunity to join teachers from all over the globe. And so many other inspiring and BIG things in the works for Maria.

Thank you again Maria Earle] for hosting us and being the best mentor, teacher and friend for this year. Thanks also to and Carrie for creating a safe supportive environment.

It’s been 20 years since my first Pilates training and certification. Entering into a Graduate Teaching program at this point in my career was an investment and choice I made not because I needed to but because I wanted more. I lost my love and desire for teaching Pilates. Learning a classical approach through Maria’s lineage with Kathy Grant helped expand my vision and understanding of movement (not just Pilates). We broke down exercises but also challenged ideas and assumptions. Maria also challenged me to do advanced work that we shy away from personally and with clients.

And as always I love any excuse to travel and learn.

Dive into your Intuition
Begins September 13th
Tuesday nights
7pm-9pm EST

and I have been using our Intuitive skills to support and coach individuals for several years. We often set time to support and check in on each other. Sometimes this is to support our individual emotional needs and earthy existence and other times it is to tap into a collective inquiry or uplevel our energy and intuitive senses. We use intuition to support our daily life, our clients and our continued education in this "earth school". We have always wanted to bring this ability and knowledge to others and have finally made the intention to do that beginning this Fall.

This will be an Intro to Intuition 4 week group helping you understand and access your intuitive abilities. Everyone is intuitive but often we do not know how to access it or understand it. What does it mean to be intuitive and how can it help you in life and work? We will cover all the basics and the practical tools needed. The goal of this group is that you will get a sense of yourself, your intuitive skills, how to hone these skills and where you can apply this skill. The group will be a combination of education, experimentation (partner work will happen), exploration (journaling, art, meditation and Breathwork) and Q&A.

This is an introductory course to intuition. We hope that is can be a stepping stone to a path of deeper exploration. We will offer a range of exercises, discussion and tools to begin you on your journey to understanding your innate ability.

Included:
4 live group sessions (2 hours each)
30 minute 1:1 Intuitive call with Viki
30 minute 1:1 Intuitive call with Andrea
Private FB group
All live calls will be available on recordings

3 WEEKS!!!!! From now I will be presenting in Denver with these incredibly talented people.

Prepping my music. Gathering my art materials.

What you can expect from my class:
1. We will gather and acknowledge each other and the land
2. You will set your intention
3. We will move into a collage or art experience (this will be short)
4. I will give you a few journal prompts.
5. We will breathe together

This class is designed to move energy and open intuitive channels. It brings clarity and insight. Breathwork in the way I practice it is an emotional healing journey. We will not learn fundamentals of breathing We will use this 3-part breath to call in or release what is needed to move forward more fully in life. The art and journaling supports the process of calling in and getting clear.

Face Massage

Pedicure at home
(an old internet favorite)
1 cup of Listerine
1 cup of vinegar
Warm water to cover the top of feet
Soak for 20 minutes and follow up with your favorite lotion.

The Five Tibetan Rites.

Abdominal Massage using a 9" ball
I love this massage because it assists releasing the Psaos as well as tight abdominals. I will warn you it does feel uncomfortable. Lie over the ball so that it is directly under your navel. Begin here. You can bend one knee out to the side and prop your head with your hands. Begin by tightening your muscles and then releasing them. Do small movements to guide the ball side to side and in a circular direction. If you had one knee bent switch legs and repeat.

Happy SunDay!

Guess what? It's snowing outside. I know! Unbelievable.

Also tomorrow is Valentines Day. Some people love it and some hate it. I have some wonderful memories of drug store chocolate boxes from my mother. I received those long after I aged past the cartoon heroes on those heart shaped boxes. I have never been overexcited to celebrate this romantic holiday but there is something wonderful about so many people being in the energy space of joy and love.

Valentine's Day can also bring up a feeling of lacking. It's normal and human to go to the place of comparison and what you do not have. If you find yourself here take extra time to care for yourself and do something special and loving to celebrate YOU. Maybe there is an event or activity that you have been putting on hold or an hour of pure indulgence. Buy yourself some flowers (not the over priced roses no one wants) or chocolates or whatever it is that brings you that pure feeling of joy and indulgence and possibly guilt. Embrace that.

The world needs more love. Your communities need more love. Friends and partners need more love. And I know many of you need to love yourself a bit more. Choose to be reminded on this Valentine Day to be love a little bit more.

Just coming out of a weekend intensive with where I’ve been able to look at the Pilates method with a new perspective.

Lesson 1. We need more Lateral work which is an exceptional way to work our breathing practice. And an idea I’m playing with (not seen in this drawing) is the “archival hand” pressing the palm out on lateral work. For me it allows a deeper sensation and fuller breathe. What about for you?

My moms friend posted this to Facebook. It seems like a scam but it isn’t. I like it. I like to read. And I am a curious person so I’m interested in what other people would choose as their favorite book.

It does take a moment. And it does take friends (ish).

If interested you message me. I send the address of the person who sent me the request. You send her your favorite book (Buy online). Then you post to your friends (or followers) and they send a book to me… and then they post and their friends etc send to you. Like most things it takes participation and trust. But why not?

Do you know how it feels when you are depleted? Sometimes this can feel like sluggishness, disinterest or depression and sometimes it can feel like anxiety, inability to stop doing, excessive chatter.

Anyone else feeling a loss of deep connection? While it’s easy to blame this all on COVID, deep emotional connections were waning years prior to the pandemic. As we separate from family members to sit in different rooms watching our individual shows. Wear headphones whenever alone. Choose take in meals. We have become an isolated society. It’s not just close friendships it’s the day to day social encounters that are making up our internal environment of isolation and disconnect. This in turn creates anxiety and depression which stem from disconnect.

How can you start to re-connect to your environment?

Healing the body requires treating the WHOLE body system. The body includes physical, mental and emotional aspects and I would include energetic or spiritual aspects.

When emotions are stuck it creates a dam in the physical part of the body. We can have several small dams throughout our body but many happen along the spinal cord, which houses the nervous system, which is our information Epi-center. So basically our physical internet can be shut down when emotional blocks happen.

To maintain a flow in the system you need movement, emotional awareness and energetic or spiritual growth.

Mondays!!!

I’m not sure about where you are but I’m NYC it’s freezing. I always feel more challenged to move my body when it’s dark and cold, but the body still needs that movement. So here are my tips:
1. Stretch first
2. Allow yourself to shorten your workout. I tell my brain 30 minutes (sometimes 20) and at that time if I’m still not in it I can stop.
3. Move slower

Basically allow your brain to get a reward. Most of the resistance is your brain keeping you safe. If it’s dark and cold your brain wants you bundled and asleep. Convince your brain you are safe and movement is safe and good. You will likely feel better soon after you begin to move.
