Physician burnout isn’t just about patient volume.

A recent G-Med poll of 125 physicians revealed that administrative responsibilities (35%) and systemic challenges (33%) are the leading sources of workplace exhaustion.

Documentation, staffing shortages, inefficient processes, and organizational barriers are consuming valuable time and energy that could otherwise be dedicated to patient care.

These findings raise an important question: How can healthcare systems better support the physicians working within them?

Who is responsible when a patient identification error slips through multiple levels of care?

G-Med presented four AI models with a case in which an intern mixed up the blood samples and imaging of two patients with the same name, resulting in incorrect diagnoses. The error was caught before treatment and no serious harm occurred.

183 physicians evaluated the AI responses. OpenEvidence received the most votes at 36%, followed by Google Gemini at 29%, ChatGPT at 20%, and Claude at 15%.

The results raise an important question: should responsibility for medical errors fall primarily on the individual, or on the systems and safeguards meant to prevent them?
