I’m literally crying as I write this…

After more than 4 years, 220+ episodes, hundreds of expert conversations, and more than 700,000 downloads, I’m pressing pause on The Soaring Child Podcast.

And wow, this is hard…

Because this podcast started as a place to share the answers I wish I’d had when my son was first diagnosed with ADHD.

But it became a place for hope. For better questions. For looking beneath the symptoms. For reminding parents they are not alone.

So if you’re wondering why I’m pressing pause, what’s changing, what’s not changing, and what this means for the 220+ episodes already waiting for you…

I recorded a “see you later” episode to explain it all.

Ever start researching your child’s ADHD and think, “Oh no. This sounds like me.”

You’re reading about executive dysfunction or time blindness or emotional regulation or overwhelm.

And suddenly, it’s not just about understanding your child anymore.

It’s about realizing there may be a reason certain things have felt harder for you too.

That can feel validating, but it can also bring up a lot of grief for the version of you who spent years thinking you were just lazy, messy, dramatic, or not trying hard enough.

In this episode of The Soaring Child Podcast, I’m talking with Kristen Carder about what happens when your child’s ADHD diagnosis becomes a mirror for your own life.

What ADHD topic do you wish someone would talk about more?

I’m planning new episodes for The Soaring Child Podcast, my podcast on natural ADHD support, and I want to make sure we’re talking about the things you actually need support with right now.

👉👉👉So tell me in the comments: What ADHD topic do you wish someone would talk about more?

A child with ADHD is not a problem to fix. Give this post a LIKE if you agree.

They’re not “too much.”

They’re not the sum of their symptoms.

They’re whole.

Wired differently, yes…but full of potential that’s often missed in the chaos.

But this can also be true:

👉 You can believe in your child’s strengths and still feel overwhelmed.
👉 You can celebrate their creativity and grieve how hard daily life feels.
👉 You can love them fiercely and still want things to be easier.

That doesn’t make you a bad parent.

It makes you human.

If you know a child with ADHD, share one thing you see in them that’s worth celebrating.

👇 Drop it in the comments below. And then SHARE this post to remind other parents who might be struggling too.

Many ADHD kids already know the “right” thing to do socially.

They may know they shouldn't interrupt. They may know they should take turns. They may know they should be a good sport.

But knowing the rule and actually using it in the moment are two very different things.

Because in real time, their brain may be juggling impulsivity, big emotions, distractibility, working memory, and overwhelm all at once.

That’s why social struggles are not always about a child not caring. Sometimes it’s about a child not being able to access the skill fast enough in the moment.

As parents, keeping this in mind helps us move away from shame and toward support, practice, and understanding.

💛 Like this post if your child sometimes struggles socially.

Yes or no: Does your child with ADHD have a hard time making or keeping friends?

This can be so hard.

Because it’s not just about “social skills.”

Sometimes your child wants connection so badly, but ADHD can make it harder to pause, take turns, read cues, manage big emotions, handle losing, or know what to do when things don’t go their way.

And as a parent, watching that happen can be heartbreaking.

Comment YES or NO below.

And if you feel comfortable, tell me what part of friendships is hardest for your child right now.

ADHD kids are often VERY misunderstood.

I've had people tell me that my son just needs to "try harder" and that he "can do something when he wants to."

But inconsistency is not always manipulation.

For kids with ADHD, performance can depend on so many things we don’t see from the outside: how tired they are, how overwhelmed they feel, how interesting the task is, how many steps are involved, how loud the room is, or how much energy they spent just holding it together all day.

So before we assume a child with ADHD “just doesn’t care,” we need to ask a better question:

What’s making this harder for them right now?

Save this for the next time your child’s ADHD gets misunderstood.

Did you know that picky eating could be a sign of nutrient deficiencies! 🥦🚫

Crazy, right?

Many parents have no idea that low levels of zinc and omega-3s can actually make picky eating WORSE!

Zinc plays a key role in taste and appetite, while omega-3s help with brain function and sensory processing. When kids are deficient, foods can taste off or feel too much in their mouths, making them even more resistant to new foods.

It’s a cycle—nutrient deficiencies can lead to picky eating, and picky eating makes those deficiencies even worse. But the good news? There are simple, effective strategies to break this cycle!

Comment YES if you have experienced this!

It's something I experienced with my own son years ago (and see all the time in my work with parents now).

This is one of the biggest reasons I always say supplements are not one-size-fits-all.

One child may need magnesium, another vitamin D, another a probiotic.

That doesn’t mean supplements don’t work.

It means the best supplement is the one your child actually needs.

Comment YES if this has ever happened to you.
