Sometimes muscle movement is playing the biggest role. Sometimes it’s changes in support or skin quality. And often, it’s a combination.

That’s why I like to look at what’s actually creating the lines before deciding what belongs in the treatment plan.

“Is 0.5 mL actually more natural than 1 mL?” 🤔💉

It is one of the most common assumptions we hear about lip filler, but the number on the syringe does not determine how natural the result will look.

Sometimes 0.5 mL is exactly enough. In another case, 1 mL may be appropriate because the product is being distributed across different areas to support shape, proportion, and projection.

For this patient, the goal was a very subtle, natural-looking enhancement that stayed true to her existing lip shape.

What matters more than the number is where that volume goes, what your lips already have, and what we are asking the filler to accomplish.

That is why we would rather start with “What do you want your lips to look like?” than “How many mL do you want?”

At Injection Artistry, the amount is part of the treatment plan, not the treatment goal. We choose it based on your anatomy and the result we are trying to create 🤍

Choosing an injector is a decision worth taking your time with.

Look through their work, ask questions, talk about what you like and what you do not want. A good consultation should give you a sense of how your provider thinks, not just a list of treatments they can offer.

For me, that also means being honest when I think you should wait, do less, or consider a different approach. Trust is built just as much in those conversations as it is in the results.

Laser-Coring is one of the more advanced treatment modes within UltraClear, and the biggest difference is depth.

Instead of only resurfacing the surface of the skin, Laser-Coring creates precise microchannels at controlled depths. That lets us work more intentionally on deeper wrinkles, laxity, scars, and areas where the tissue itself needs more remodeling.

What I like about it is that the treatment can be customized. Depth, coverage, and pattern can all be adjusted depending on what we are treating, so it is not a one-setting-fits-everyone approach.

It is a stronger treatment, so recovery is part of the plan too. For advanced Laser-Coring, UltraClear lists roughly 5 to 10 days of downtime, with the fuller remodeling result developing over the following weeks to months.

The before and after above is a great example of why treatment depth matters. Sometimes the skin does not need “more products.” It needs the right kind of stimulation, at the right level.

There’s always more to learn, even with a device you already know well.

We recently hosted an advanced UltraClear training at Injection Artistry with David Weir, focused on taking our understanding of the technology even further. Swipe through to see more from the day →

We went beyond our everyday protocols and explored more advanced approaches to coring, tightening, and resurfacing, including how different settings can be adjusted depending on what we’re treating and what we want to achieve.

What I appreciated most was that this wasn’t simply about going stronger. It was about knowing when more advanced settings make sense, how to use them precisely, and how to get more from the technology in a thoughtful way.

We also invited the Masters Medspa team to join us. Having a community where we can learn together, exchange techniques, ask questions, and share clinical experience makes days like this even more valuable.

A big thank you to David for spending the day with us and helping us take our UltraClear knowledge even further 🤍
