Then she found out about Indiana Orthopedic Institute...

Monday was a full day of learning and discussion at the Indiana Orthopedic Institute as we had the great honor of hosting the 2026 John N. Insall Traveling Fellowship. With this prestigious program, top surgeons visit Knee Society members' programs to advance education and research, share ideas and techniques, and build camaraderie.

The day started early with knee surgeries performed by IOI CEO and Founder Dr. Michael Meneghini. In the afternoon, activities shifted to our education center that shares the floor with our clinic and physical therapy department.

Each of the 2026 fellows—Dr. Timothy Brown (Houston, Texas), Dr. Henry Fu (Hong Kong), Dr. Federica Rosso (Torino, Italy) and Dr. Vishal Hegde (San Francisco)—presented research along with IOI surgeons and researchers Dr. Meneghini and Dr. John Meding.

Topics included the use of robots in knee-replacement surgery, the effects of GLP-1s in orthopedic surgery, modern surgical techniques, and even the history and evolution of joint replacement.

We thank all who presented and attended for a memorable day!

Sports medicine at IOI is not limited to competitive athletes. It also supports people trying to move, exercise, work, and stay active with less pain.

The knee, shoulder, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and surrounding muscles can be affected by sudden injuries or repetitive wear.

Many conditions start with non-surgical care, including rest, therapy, activity changes, or injections when appropriate.

The Indiana Orthopedic Institute is honored to host a session next week of the 2026 John N. Insall Traveling Fellowship, where top surgeons visit Knee Society members' programs to advance education and research, share ideas and techniques, and build camaraderie.

IOI will host the fellows Monday at the education center of its flagship facility in Noblesville's Innovation Mile district. The fellowship also includes stops at sites including Mayo Clinic and Duke University.

Surgeons, care providers, fellows, and students will attend the didactic session. Presentation and discussion topics include total knee arthroplasty in the GLP-1 era, the evolution of revision knee (and hip) arthroplasty, and personalized total knee arthroplasty.
