Mission in Progress: Advancing Maternal Health

Last week in Washington, D.C., CHCA CEO Dr. Lanita S. White Shaverd and Maternal Health Project Manager Rakiyan Moss joined maternal health leaders, advocates, and policymakers for a roundtable featuring researchers and community partners from PCORI-funded Maternal Health Partner Projects.

Conversations like this connect research to real communities. For Arkansas, that means bringing the experience of our community health centers to the national dialogue on improving outcomes for mothers and families.

Primary care is where prevention starts, where chronic disease gets managed, and where a stronger healthcare system is built.

That message was front and center as CHCA CEO Dr. Lanita S. Shaverd and Board Chair Dr. Susan Ward-Jones joined fellow leaders at the Arkansas Medical, Dental and Pharmaceutical Association, Inc. (AMDPA) 2026 Health Policy Roundtable to discuss access, rural health, Medicaid, and the future of care in Arkansas.

Thank you, AMDPA, for convening this conversation. Arkansas's community health centers are ready to be part of what comes next.
