🖤 A Little Reminder About Artwork, Appointments & Respecting Our Workflow 🖤
As we head into our busy season, we want to take a minute to explain how things work behind the scenes at True North Tattoo and establish a few friendly but firm boundaries.
First, artwork and stencils.
It is studio policy across the board that we do not release finalized artwork or stencils prior to your appointment. There are several reasons for this, including protecting our original artwork from being taken or reproduced without permission.
Personally, I work on each week’s designs during the week they’re scheduled, sometimes right up until the appointment itself. This is intentional! It keeps the design fresh in my mind so that when we sit down together, I’m fully immersed in your piece and ready to bring it to life.
Please be mindful of last-minute design changes. A laundry list of changes the night before your appointment can seriously disrupt an already full schedule. If you have very specific expectations, lots of questions, or anxiety surrounding such a permanent decision, that’s completely understandable! We encourage you to schedule a longer consultation so we can work through those details together ahead of time.
Now, about phone calls and messages.
When we’re tattooing, our attention belongs to the person in our chair. Period. 🖤
We work hard to make every client feel like they’re the center of our universe during their appointment. That means we’re generally not answering calls, texts, or messages throughout the business day unless we happen to have a substantial break.
We typically respond to messages that evening, once the shop is cleaned and the day’s appointments are finished, or within 24 hours during particularly busy stretches.
Please don’t mistake a delayed response for a lack of attention or professionalism. Quite the opposite! We’re giving someone else the same undivided attention you’ll receive when it’s YOUR turn in the chair.
A little planning goes a long way!
Please book early, as our calendar is filling quickly. Take advantage of your free consultation, ask your questions, communicate your expectations, and give us the time and space to do what we do best.
We genuinely want everyone to have an amazing experience here, but accommodating everyone also requires a little patience, mutual respect, and understanding that our time is carefully scheduled.
We’re artists, business owners, and human beings, and there’s a whole lot happening behind the scenes that you don’t always see.
Thank you all for keeping us so busy, trusting us with your artwork, and respecting the process. We appreciate every single one of you! 🫶🏻
Much love,
The True North Tattoo Crew 🖤
