Me suspiciously checking on y’all to make sure you ate breakfast today. 👀

Listen, I don’t know what you have going on in your life, but if you’re waking up, drinking coffee, and going HOURS without eating anything… I have questions.

Breakfast doesn’t have to be some huge, elaborate meal! I’m talking eggs, Greek yogurt, a piece of toast, a banana, or literally ANYTHING to start getting into the habit of fueling your body in the morning.

And listen, even if all you’re eating right now is ONE GRAPE in the morning, that’s better than nothing! We’re starting small and building a routine of eating breakfast daily. The goal is to get your body used to eating in the morning and gradually build from there!

So consider this your friendly little wellness check…

HAVE YOU EATEN BREAKFAST TODAY OR NOT?!

Yes, I am a coach, but I am SO much more than that!

For a long time, I’ve been posting about my thoughts and philosophies on health, as well as the business I’m growing. But honestly, there’s so much more to me that I want to start sharing!

I’m someone who LOVES life and lives it hard! From traveling the world, to always finding a new creative outlet, enjoying nature, and pushing myself to do things I never thought I could achieve, these are all huge parts of who I am.

And not to bring it back to health, but I’m able to do so much of this because of the healthy habits I’ve established along the way!

I’m SO proud of the lifestyle I’ve created for myself, and I’m equally proud of the people I’ve been able to help achieve their own personal goals.

Because that’s the thing about health. It’s not one-size-fits-all! It’s about finding what works for YOU so you can build the habits that allow you to live the life you actually want to live!

So, if you’re looking to become the best version of yourself and create a lifestyle that allows you to do more of what you LOVE, send me a message so we can schedule a health consultation!

Yes, I’ll help you build healthy habits, but what we’re really working toward is SO much bigger than that! It’s about creating a life you’re excited to wake up and live every single day!

People love to say that being healthy is hard. And honestly? THEY’RE RIGHT!

Building healthy habits takes dedication, commitment, and pushing yourself to do things you don’t always feel like doing. Whether it’s getting up to work out, preparing your meals, prioritizing sleep, or making better food choices, there’s nothing easy about changing your lifestyle!

BUT here’s what I want you to think about…

Is choosing NOT to prioritize your health any easier in the long run?

Yes, you might not have to walk, meal prep, lift weights, or be intentional about your nutrition. But you may find yourself struggling with low energy, limitations in your physical abilities, concerns about your long-term health, or feeling unhappy with how you feel in your own body.

Both paths come with their own challenges. One requires you to put in the work NOW to build habits that support your future. The other allows you to stay comfortable in the moment, but may come with difficulties later on.

The difference? One offers the opportunity for long-term health, confidence, and fulfillment, while the other may cost you those things over time.

So the choice is yours: Do you want to make the hard changes now and invest in your future, or keep choosing what feels easier today?

You don’t have to be perfect, and you don’t have to change everything overnight. But the decisions you make consistently today can have a HUGE impact on your future!

Choose your hard!

If you’re trying to lose weight, you HAVE to pay attention to your peanut butter and olive oil intake!

And honestly, any form of fat intake in general.

First and foremost, I think tracking is one of the best things you can do to understand what you’re eating. And I don’t mean criticizing yourself for the food you’re consuming, but actually learning what you’re eating!

But if you don’t want to track or measure everything throughout your weight-loss journey, the one thing I beg you to do is track these two items. Why?

Because 1 gram of fat contains 9 calories, while 1 gram of protein and carbohydrates contains only 4 calories!

That means it takes a lot less fat for you to consume a larger number of calories. The thing about fat sources is that they can sneak up on you! You’re not necessarily eating a large quantity, but those calories can add up quickly.

Now, this doesn’t mean that fats are bad for you! Dietary fats are essential for your health, and foods like peanut butter and olive oil can absolutely be part of a balanced diet. But because they’re so calorie-dense, underestimating how much you’re consuming can make it harder to maintain the calorie deficit needed for weight loss.

That’s why, if I have to ask you to do anything, it would be to simply start tracking your peanut butter, olive oil, and butter intake!

We don’t have to be perfect in order to lose weight, but we DO need to lead our lives with intentionality. And one of the best ways to start doing that is by becoming more aware of the amount of fat you’re consuming!

I no longer promote intuitive eating as the starting point for my nutrition coaching! Here’s why.

When I first started coaching, I loved the idea of intuitive eating. Learn to listen to your body, honor your cravings, and eventually allow your body to guide you toward healthier food choices. It sounds incredible on paper! But there’s one major issue I’ve come to recognize…

You can’t make informed decisions about your nutrition if you don’t understand nutrition in the first place!

There are baseline nutritional principles that influence your results. If you want to lose weight, a calorie deficit is generally necessary. If you want to build muscle, consuming enough calories, prioritizing protein, and following a consistent strength-training routine can make a huge difference!

But how are you supposed to understand what your body needs if you’ve never learned about the food you’re consuming, the macronutrients it provides, or how your eating habits affect your energy, hunger, and results?

That’s why I believe nutrition education needs to come BEFORE relying on intuition alone.

I’m not saying intuitive eating has no place in health! In fact, I think it can be incredibly valuable once you’ve developed a stronger understanding of nutrition and your own body.

For example, I’ve learned to recognize when I need more carbohydrates to fuel my activity, when I need to prioritize protein, and when I’m craving something sweet because I genuinely want it versus reaching for food out of habit or for that quick dopamine hit.

That awareness didn’t happen overnight. It came from learning, experimenting, and understanding my own eating patterns over time!

My philosophy? Learn first, build awareness second, and use that knowledge to make informed decisions long-term.

The goal isn’t to track every calorie or macro forever. It’s to understand your body well enough to make choices that support your health without having to think about every single thing you eat!

Because the ultimate goal of nutrition coaching isn’t to make you dependent on a meal plan. It’s to give you the knowledge and confidence to make decisions for yourself!

As a previous snack-aholic, this has been the BEST way for me to break the habit!

First things first, snacking isn’t bad! But when it becomes excessive and starts getting in the way of your goals, it’s worth looking at WHY you’re constantly reaching for food throughout the day.

One of the biggest things that has helped me is eating 4 balanced meals a day!

Here’s why:

1. It gives you a routine! Having set meal times gives you a concrete idea of when you’ll be eating next. Instead of constantly grazing throughout the day, you have a plan to follow!

2. It helps you feel more satisfied! When you’re eating balanced meals with protein, carbs, healthy fats, and fruits or vegetables, you’re giving your body a wider variety of nutrients to support your health and help keep you satisfied between meals!

3. It builds discipline! Instead of giving in to every craving or reaching for food out of habit, you’re learning to stick to a routine. You know your next meal is coming in a few short hours, so practice being intentional with your choices and sticking to the plan!

The goal is to stop letting snacking become an automatic habit and start being more mindful of WHY you’re reaching for food!

Remember: small changes lead to big results!

Does cardio negatively affect your strength training results? It depends on how you approach it!

Cardio primarily relies on your Type I muscle fibers, which are designed for endurance, while resistance training challenges your Type II muscle fibers, which are important for producing force and supporting muscle growth.

The issue isn’t that cardio is bad for building muscle! It’s that too much cardio, especially when combined with inadequate nutrition and recovery, can interfere with your strength and muscle-building progress.

If your goal is to build muscle, prioritize progressive resistance training, eat enough calories and protein to support recovery, and incorporate cardio in a way that complements your goals rather than compromises your ability to recover!

Remember, you don’t have to choose between cardiovascular health and building muscle. You just need to make sure your training matches your goals!
