What is AYURVEDA? A really amazing approach to wellness: achieving and sustaining balance to slow aging and prevent (or help recover from) disease. Esp if someone suffers from common things like indigestion, heartburn, reflux, constipation, insomnia, low energy, irritable skin. Lots of simple strategies and gentle lifestyle adjustments to choose from. Easy herbal support in the diet. Our digestive system is key ! Are we nourishing ourselves with fresh, whole foods? Are we (unknowingly) adding obstacles to clean digestion?
Here's one tip:
Cold dairy is VERY HARD for our bodies to break down and utilize well. (I know, we all want our calcium!) How to enjoy it and not weigh down our guts?
Allow it to come to room temp. Add a sprinkle of cardamom, which cuts through the stickiness. Sip a warm cup of herb tea before and/or after, to facilitate the digestive fire breaking down the heavy density of the yogurt. It makes the nutrition more available to us. And, these additions will prevent the buildup of undigested and unprocessed gunk in our bodies. KEY.
Ayurveda is Full Spectrum Wellness! ! ! ! !

What is Ayurveda? We know the weather and seasons affect us, and we can stay balanced by using opposite qualities: in this season, eat and drink *warm* foods and beverages, adding warming spices (cinnamon, ginger) and keep your head and neck covered! Simple enough?
We all have a unique and individual metabolic type that goes even deeper in terms of what balances us during all the seasons. Staying physically well, mentally peaceful and spiritually fulfilled are the goals of Ayurvedic practices. Please check in with me if you would like to know more! !
