Did you know skating can have mental health benefits?
1. It quiets racing thoughts 🧠
-Skating requires your brain to focus on balance, coordination, and movement. That gives your mind something to concentrate on besides worrying, overthinking, or anticipating problems.
2. It releases feel-good chemicals 🤩
-Physical activity can increase endorphins and influence neurotransmitters involved in mood regulation, including dopamine and serotonin.
3. It helps release physical tension 🤕
-Anxiety can leave your body feeling restless and keyed up. Skating provides an outlet for that energy.
4. It can help with ADHD, too 💃🏻
-Skating combines movement, stimulation, coordination, and novelty. For someone with ADHD, that combination can be particularly engaging without feeling like traditional exercise.
5. It can help you experience joy again 😊
-This is one of my favorite benefits. Skating isn’t just exercise. It’s PLAY. When you’re struggling with depression or anxiety, doing something enjoyable without needing to be productive can be genuinely therapeutic.
