Ergonomics is probably one of the most underutilized
and misunderstood…
pieces of spinal health.
Unless you’re a chiropractor who loves nerding out about this stuff 👋😂
So what the hell is ergonomics, and why should you care?
We’ve evolved into a world where many of us spend HOURS sitting at desks…
Staring at screens, working on laptops, driving, scrolling…
…and generally moving a whole lot less than our bodies were made and designed to.
And buying something labeled “ergonomic” doesn’t automatically fix that (people think it does; it doesn’t)
An ergonomic desk isn’t ergonomic if it isn’t set up for YOU.
Your chair.
Your monitor.
Your keyboard.
Your desk height.
Your movement throughout the day.
All of it should work with your body and the way you actually use your space.
That’s also why shared workstations can be a problem: what fits one person beautifully may be completely wrong for the next..
Poor ergonomics over time can contribute to repetitive strain, musculoskeletal pain and injury, fatigue, and decreased productivity.
Good ergonomics can:
👉 Reduce physical strain and injury risk
👉 Improve comfort, efficiency, and productivity
👉 Support employee well-being, attendance, and longevity
And for employers? This isn’t just about buying better chairs (that’s the proverbial wellness checkbox…)
It’s about creating a workplace that actually works for the humans working in it.
