What’s going on? A lot of giving! Linor, Danny, Amy, and Sarah R. provided the fried dough and joe after the run in support of their upcoming Dipsea hike for breast cancer prevention, raising more than $1,000 today! Andi generously gave flowers to donors (check out her floral art at the Emeryville farmers market Thursdays). It’s no surprise: this morning’s icebreaker about our favorite causes, which range from climate change to youth mentorship to immigrants’ rights, shows how much our donut running community cares for one another and for the world.

We were the cool kids today, thanks to overcast skies after a few days of scorching heat! ALERT: Next Friday 9/18 we’ll have free coffee + donuts after the run, courtesy of GU Energy Labs and the Lake Merritt Run Club Half Marathon & Marathon Training Program! Hang out for free GU samples and learn how to train with us for the Oakland races in March (and get some cool swag)!
