If you simplify the activity of your mind to only one thing—registration of your body inhaling and exhaling—for the first time in your life, your mind becomes free. When your mind becomes present, it is free. Instead of the life force being translated into fear, worry, and anxiety, it is free to circulate and bring vitality. Instead of being in the jail of associations, you enter the field of all possibilities. The life force is present, and you are with it. There is no judgment, no good or bad. There’s just you, registering a breath as it is happening. —from Coming to Yourself by Jon Schreiber
