If you’ve ever been told to schedule an appointment and wondered if it was really necessary, this one’s for you.

At HALO Primary Care, we believe preventive care is an important part of protecting your long-term health. Regular checkups, screenings, and conversations with your provider help us catch potential concerns early and make sure nothing gets overlooked.

Taking care of yourself starts with showing up.

When was your last wellness visit? Consider this your reminder to get it on the calendar.

Listen, we are not judging… We just need the truth so we can figure out if your medication isn’t working or if we need to revisit the math. 😂

A 90-day prescription from 6 months ago? We need to talk. 👀

💕 Consider this your reminder to check in with yourself.

Breast awareness starts with knowing what’s normal for YOUR body. Take time to notice changes in the look or feel of your breasts, including new lumps, skin dimpling, ni**le changes, or unusual discharge.

If you notice something new or unusual, don’t ignore it. Reach out to your healthcare provider to have it evaluated.

Make it a monthly habit! Set a recurring calendar reminder to check in with your breast health. If you menstruate, consider scheduling it a few days after your period, when breasts may be less tender.

Remember, self-checks don’t replace recommended mammograms or clinical care, but knowing your normal is an important part of taking charge of your health.

Save this post, set your reminder, and share it with a woman you love. 💗

Most men don't avoid prostate screening because they don't care. They avoid it because it feels uncomfortable, or because nothing feels wrong. That's exactly why early detection matters: prostate cancer often shows no signs in its early stages.

Screening isn't one-size-fits-all, and it starts with a conversation. At HALO, we'll talk through your age, family history, and what the options really look like, so you can make a choice that fits you.

If you're 50 or older, or 45 with added risk, this is your sign to schedule. And if there's a husband, dad, or brother in your life who keeps saying "next year," consider this your nudge to nudge him.

You’re not “just getting older.” Your body is changing and it’s worth paying attention to. 🤍

As we age, our hormones naturally shift. And sometimes, the changes we brush off as “normal” may be worth talking about with your healthcare provider.

Changes in:
✨ Energy
✨ Sleep
✨ Mood
✨ Weight or metabolism
✨ Muscle mass
✨ Libido
✨ Menstrual cycles

can all be part of the conversation.

Healthy aging starts with knowing your body—not ignoring the signs.

Talk with your primary care provider about your symptoms and whether hormone testing may be appropriate for you.

Not sure what all those numbers on your prescription bottle mean? 👀

Here’s the quick breakdown:

💊 Medication name — What you’re taking
💊 Dose — How much to take each time
💊 Directions — When and how often to take it
💊 Quantity — How many pills are in the bottle
💊 Refills — How many times you can refill it without contacting your provider

And remember:

➡️ If you have refills available, call your pharmacy to request your refill.

➡️ If it says “0 refills” or you’re out of refills, contact your primary care provider. Your provider may need to review your medication and send in a new prescription.

Keeping track of your medications doesn’t have to be complicated. Save this post for your next refill!
