✝️ Matthew 8:26 (KJV)

“And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.”

Matthew 14:31 (KJV)

“And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”

❤️ The Meaning

Jesus wasn’t telling His disciples they had no faith. He was challenging them to trust Him even when everything around them seemed impossible.

The beautiful thing about Matthew 14:31 is that Jesus reached out and caught Peter before questioning his faith.

Sometimes our faith shakes. Sometimes the storms of life overwhelm us. But even when we doubt, Jesus is still reaching out His hand.

Faith doesn’t mean the absence of fear. It means trusting God even when fear is present.

God, it’s been hard.

The road has been brutal. The battles have exhausted me, and the scars they left are ones I’ll carry forever.

Yet somewhere in the fighting, sadness, and darkness, I still found myself praying to You.

Some days, I felt unheard. Some days, I wondered if You were listening—and, if we’re being honest, there were times I thought You listened about as well as a husband does.

I’ve been angry with You. I’ve questioned Your timing, Your plans, and Your silence. I’ve blamed You for what I didn’t understand, cried out for answers, and begged for relief while the weight of the world pressed down on me.

And yet…

Still, You stayed.

Still, You loved me.

Still, You waited.

Even when my faith shook and my words weren’t kind, I kept finding my way back to You. Beneath the anger and pain was a man who never stopped needing his Father.

I’m not pretending to have it all figured out. I’m still fighting, still carrying scars, still praying for answers, and sometimes still afraid of tomorrow.

But I’m learning that faith isn’t always beautiful prayers, raised hands, or Sunday morning smiles.

Sometimes faith is crying in the darkness, asking God why, and being angry, exhausted, and broken—but still whispering, “Father, I need You.”

Through every storm, failure, angry word, and tear, You never stopped being the God I could turn to.

Lord, I’m still here.

I’m still fighting.

I’m still believing.

Most of all, I’m still reaching for You.

Because even when I struggled to hold on to my faith, Your love kept bringing me back.

Amen.
