Stefanie and I are beyond thankful for our newest BBI doulas who spent the last two weekends with us for our 32-hour training. And let me tell you, we BARELY managed to fit everything in! 😂 Seriously, I sometimes wonder how anyone can train doulas in less than 32 hours.

We are now at almost 90 doulas trained in the last two years, and we couldn't be more excited about what the future holds!

These doulas are ROCKING! They have so much to offer, and most importantly, their hearts are in the right place. 🦋 Watching their enthusiasm, passion, connections, and growth over these four days has been such a joy. They are ready to show up for families and individuals during the childbearing years, and we can't wait to see all the good they'll do.

It also means so much to us that other birth professionals and people supporting postpartum families have taken our training and spoken so highly of it.

And guess what? We already have our first registration for our March cohort! 🙌

Needless to say, Stefanie and I are over the moon, ridiculously proud, and a little bit tickled. Okay, A LOT tickled! 😂

✨ Scholarships are available for our upcoming October Doula Training! ✨

Have you ever felt deeply drawn to birth work?
Have you dreamed of becoming a doula and supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum years?

This may be your time. 🦋

There has never been a more exciting time to step into doula work. Insurance coverage for doula services is growing, Medicaid is now covering doula care, and beginning in 2027, a few more insurance plans will be offering some reimbursement for doula services to families.

At the same time, our community has a real need for more compassionate, committed, and well-trained birth workers.

💖 Our upcoming 32-hour doula training:

📅 October 10, 11, 17 & 18
⏰ 9:30 AM–6:30 PM each day
📍 Hilton Olympia — Conference Room, Olympia, WA

The Hilton is also a convenient option for participants coming from out of town who would like to stay onsite during the training.

🦋 Scholarships are available for those who truly feel called to the doula profession but would not be able to take the training without financial assistance. If you are from a low-income household or your financial circumstances would otherwise prevent you from participating, please reach out to us. We would love to hear about your interest in becoming a doula and serving families in our community.

This is more than just a training. It’s an opportunity to learn how to provide meaningful, evidence-informed, compassionate support to families during one of the most transformative times in their lives.

If you’ve been thinking, “Maybe I’m supposed to do this…” maybe this is your sign. ✨

We’d love to welcome you into the birth worker community.

A few spots are still available for October! Please reach out for training details and scholarship information.

Check out our website www.doulaolympia.com and reach out through the contact form if you are in needed of a scholarship.

It truly takes a village 🫶

✨ I’m so, so excited to share this! ✨

Our State-Approved in-person Doula Training — October 10th, 11th, 17th & 18th — is moving to the Hilton Garden Inn in Olympia! 🦋

I have to say, I’m really excited about this new location. We’ll have a beautiful conference room with big windows and lots of natural light — a warm, welcoming space where we can learn, share, connect, and grow together. 🫶

And what really makes me smile is knowing that our participants who are traveling from out of town will be able to stay right at the hotel. We may even be able to get a special rate for our training participants! How exciting is that? 🎊

I feel like this training is coming together in such a special way, and I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who is helping make it happen. I’ll be sharing more soon about our new sponsors for this training, so stay tuned! ✨

We still have a few spots available, and if becoming a doula has been sitting somewhere in the back of your heart, maybe this is your sign. 🙌

There has never been a more exciting time to step into this work. With opportunities to serve families through Apple Health and Molina via ProviderOne, there is a real need for trained, compassionate doulas — and meaningful opportunities to build a sustainable career doing work that truly matters.

I’ve been doing this work for 18 years, and one of my favorite parts has always been welcoming new doulas into this community and watching them find their confidence, their voice, and their own unique way of supporting families.

If you’ve been thinking about becoming a doula, I would absolutely love to hear from you. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

🦋 STATE-APPROVED DOULA TRAINING — ONLY 6 WEEKS AWAY! 🦋

I can hardly believe it! Time flies! In just six weeks, we’ll be starting our next 32-hour, in-person, Washington State-approved Doula Training in Olympia.

📅 October 10, 11, 17 & 18, 2026
📍 Olympia, WA
⏰ 9:30 AM–6:30 PM
🎓 32-hour in-person training

And I’m so excited to be teaching this training alongside my co-teacher, Stefanie Anderson❣️

We will also have several wonderful guest speakers joining us throughout the training, bringing their own expertise, experience, and perspectives to our classroom. Some of our guest speakers are already listed on our website, and we’ll be introducing and announcing more of them over the next few weeks. ✨

If you’ve been thinking about becoming a doula, maybe this is your sign to finally take the leap!

I absolutely love teaching this training because it’s not just about completing 32 hours and getting certified. We spend four full days learning, practicing, connecting, asking questions, laughing, and preparing you for the real world of supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

And one of my favorite things about our program is that the support doesn’t end when the training is over. 💕

Doulas who train with us have the opportunity to:

✨ Join our private Facebook group for doulas trained through our program
✨ Attend our monthly doula meetings for continued connection, support, and learning
✨ Take our Advanced Doula Skills classes to keep expanding your knowledge and confidence
✨ Become part of our doula referral network — when families reach out to us looking for a doula, we have the opportunity to refer them to doulas in our community
✨ Stay connected with a wonderful group of doulas who understand the joys (and challenges!) of this work

We really want our students to know that they’re not alone after they finish their training. You’re becoming part of a community. 🤍

This training will be held in a conference room at a local hotel, which is especially convenient for those traveling from out of town. You can stay overnight at the hotel and be right there for class in the morning — no commuting, no rushing! ☕️

I’ll be sharing some testimonials from our past students with this post. Reading their words about their experiences makes my heart so happy, and I think they give you a much better idea of what our training is really like. 🥰

Only six weeks! If becoming a doula has been on your heart for a while, now is the time to get registered.

I would LOVE to welcome you into our next training! 🫶

When: October 10, 11 - 17, 18
How long: 36 hours over two weekends

- Certification through Blissful Birth Initiations
- This training qualifies you to become a state-approved doula
- Eligible to apply after state doula certification for ProviderOne and bill state insurance
✨ Early Bird Discount available if you register by August 10th! ✨

Diksha has been a doula trainer, doula, childbirth educator, and infant massage instructor since 2008. She has supported over 1,400 families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period with compassionate, evidence-based, and culturally inclusive care. ---
A core part of Diksha’s work is her commitment to training and empowering the next generation of doulas. Through education, mentorship, and ongoing support, she helps new doulas build confidence, develop strong practical skills, and grow sustainable practices so they can serve families with professionalism, compassion, and heart-centered care.
---
Her recent 2-year partnership with Washington Center for Women in Business provided dozens of individuals with 32 hours of training to state-certify them across the region!
