After 26 years amzing years with HHCP and Hospice Crystal retired.....we had a retirement party 🥳for her last Friday at Frank's place in Simpson. It was finally time for her to settle down and relax and enjoy her golden years.....

And just so everybody knows I saw her at back work this week 😂!!!! After only 2 days in retirement she was either bored already or missed us! Either way we were glad she stopped by! I told her not to be a stranger and if she ever gets too bored we could put her on the schedule to be on call whenever she wants 😂💯

Last week was the end of an era at HHCP and Hospice.We said goodbye to a dear friend, a colleague, and a coworker, a registered nurse extraordinaire: Crystal Edwards Fortuner who retired after 26 years. We celebrated Crystal by inviting all staff as well as Crystal's family out to dinner at Franks Place in Simpson. Maria the DOO wrote a toast which I will post here with highlights from the celebratory evening.

She leaves with our gratitude, our affection, and the knowledge that her work made a difference every single day! “La Dolce Vita” Residents of Allied Terrace were recently living the good life when they took their Trip Around the World to Italy. Brenda the activities director of Allied Terrace help the residents as they traveled through the country, sampling Italian cheeses, cannoli, and Limoncello. As a special treat several of them signed up to make homemade gnocchi with my cousin chefs Albert and Lou of Mondano restaurant located in Old Forge. Nearly 20 people gathered in the dining room of Allied Terrace for a Hands-On enjoyable afternoon of gnocchi pasta rolling-making, tasting and a little bit of w**e pairig as they tasted their handy work! There wasn't enough time to make sauce from scratch so that was donated by Mondanos. Once hand graded parmesan cheese topped the freshly plated gnocchi as they came from the kitchen we were all in heaven. When people say do you love what you do for a living? I answer, you better believe I do, every time!! I mean it's a tough job but somebody's got to do it. 🍝🍇🍷

Recently the annual health fair for Lackawanna Co. seniors was held at the Steamtown Mall! Special Thanks to HHCP RN Michelle Angerson who spent part of her morning with me doing blood pressure checks. Oh the laughs we had LOL! 😀 🤣
We met so many people; current patients, old friends, and we made some new friends too! 😁
The next senior health fair that HHCP is attending will be at Wayne, Co. at Ladore on Friday, October 29th Hope to see you there!
