Yesterday I received a text from a mom that the ho**er she was using was turning her ni***es purple. 🤔

Now, I know moms are tired so I'm sitting there trying to decide what the hell she meant, but I was also tired. I couldn't come up with it so I said I'm not sure you meant ho**er but I can't for the life of me figure out what you mean.

Turns out talk-to-text doesn't know what a Haakaa is 🤣🤣

And p.s. if your ho**er is turning your ni***es purple, get your money back. If your HAAKAA is doing it, text me. 531-329-0604

Nip Tip Tuesday, mama: the best time to meet your lactation consultant is BEFORE baby arrives.

Not at 2am. Not when you’re in tears and ready to give up. Before.

In case you missed it, I've got 3 FREE Prenatal Ask Me Anything sessions. Just you (bring your partner too!), me, and every question you’ve been googling at midnight.

Latch. Pumps. What’s normal those first few days. What insurance covers. Nothing is off limits and nothing is a dumb question.

Only 3 spots.
Book here: https://calendly.com/mckenzie-tendertouchlactation/new-meeting

Doulas, chiros, birth photographers, prenatal fitness friends: if you’ve got a pregnant mama in your world, send her my way! 💛

Okay mama, real question: how many breastfeeding questions are sitting in your Notes app right now?

The ones you’ve been googling at midnight. The ones you feel silly asking at your OB appointment. The ones your mom group gave you 47 different answers to.

Bring them to me. For free.

I’m opening 3 FREE Prenatal Ask Me Anything sessions. Just you, me (and your partner if they want in!), and all the questions. Latch, pumping, what’s normal, what insurance covers, what to do if things don’t go as planned. Nothing is off limits. Judgment-free, always.

Only 3 spots, mama. DM me “AMA” to claim yours. 💛

Check it out!

Meet TenderTouch Lactation's B**b Mobile Mach II !

While we will miss Big Bertha (as the kids called the van), this B**b Mobile's gas mileage will help us reach even more families.

Thanks to Mikal (sales) and Zach (finance) at Woodhouse Ford in Blair for taking care of us. They even went home with some TenderTouch brochures ❤️

Let's clear something up.

Breastfeeding is not supposed to hurt like hell.

Some tenderness in the first few days? Common. Toe-curling, cracked, bleeding, dreading-every-feed pain? That's a sign something needs a tweak. Not a sign you're weak, and not something you have to push through until it "toughens up."

I know because I did it. With my first, every latch hurt and I white-knuckled through every single one. Until my doula told me I had a choice, I didn't know there was any option but to suffer.

Painful latch is the #1 reason mamas reach out to me, and most of them have already been told "it's just uncomfortable at first."

If that's you, I'll come to your house, watch a feed, and we'll figure it out together. No judgment, no agenda.

Call or text 531-329-0604. Day or night.

Nip Tip Tuesday!

If pumping hurts, or you're sitting there 20 minutes and getting barely anything, check your fl**ge before you blame your supply.

Your fl**ge is the funnel piece that goes over your ni**le. Most pumps come with one or two sizes in the box, and a LOT of mamas never get sized at all. Spoiler: your ni**le size has nothing to do with your b**b size.

Signs your fl**ge might be off:
- Your ni**le rubs the sides of the tunnel
- A big chunk of ar**la gets pulled in
- It pinches or hurts while you pump
- Your ni***es look red, white, or swollen after
- Your output is lower than you expected

Heads up: your size can change, so the fl**ge that fit at two weeks might not fit at four months.

I size fl**ges at most of my visits, and since I come to you, you don't even have to find the box. Text me at 531-329-0604.

Seven visits and counting.

That's where Kelsey was when she wrote this review. And she'll be the first to tell you she didn't think she needed a lactation consultant AT ALL.

No latch issues. Baby was eating. So why call?

Because breastfeeding isn't one problem you fix and move on from. It changes. Week two looks nothing like week six. Then come growth spurts, going back to work, bottles, solids. Just when you think you've got it figured out, something new shows up.

You don't have to be in crisis to call me. "Doing okay" can still get better. And sometimes the most helpful thing a mama hears at a visit is that she's already doing it right.

I come to you and I'm a call or text away: 531-329-0604.

Nip Tip Tuesday!

Take a peek at your ni**le right after your baby unlatches. What shape is it?

If it looks like a brand new tube of lipstick (slanted on one side) or smooshed flat like a pancake, that's your ni**le telling you the latch is too shallow. Same goes for a latch that hurts like hell. Your ni**le is getting pinched against the roof of baby's mouth instead of sitting farther back where it's soft and comfy.

A few things to try at your next feed:

-Tummy to tummy. Baby's whole body faces you, not just their head.
-Nose to ni**le. Line your ni**le up with baby's nose so they tip their head back and reach up for it.
-Wait for the big, wide mouth. Think yawn, not sipping from a straw.
-Chin first, then bring baby to you. Not your b**b to baby.
-If it hurts, start over. Slide a clean finger into the corner of baby's mouth to break the suction and try again. There are no bonus points for white knuckling through it.

Cracked, bleeding, toe-curling pain is not something you have to push through, mama.

Want more than a few quick tips? I'm hosting a FREE 30 minute webinar on Monday, October 12 at 12pm CT, all about getting to a pain-free latch. Bring your questions. Jammies welcome.
