Hey everyone! I know it's a bit last minute but I will be having a little meet and greet at trestle park today from 5-6 with Russ from little bricks charity if anyone would like to come say hi! If you don't know who Russ is he is the president/founder of Little Bricks Charity a non profit that donates lego to hospitalized/sick children, like Raelynn. He is currently on a tour delivering lego to 13 children's hospitals all over the US, including the hospital Rae goes to! For more info on what he's all about head to his tiktok page @littlebrickscharityguy π hope to see some people out there!
Today miss Raelynn turned 2 years old! While her party isn't until this weekend we still celebrated in Bluey fashion today the best I could. Safe to say she loved it (but not as much as bluey herself π) We are so thankful she is doing well and can enjoy her special day this year β€β€
Around August was her last known episode, hoping to keep it that way ππ
This week is infantile spasms awareness week and this is the post i made for tiktok, figured id post it here also. There was so much more i wanted to say in this video but tiktoks are only so long π
Rae did so so good with her eeg today, usually it looks like a fricken exorcism but today she actually stayed calm for most of it (even tho it took 45 mins longer to put on, newer guy) ill update when we get the results. Im including a little video to kinda show what it looks like when we go in too β€
Today also marks 2 weeks until her MRI π₯Ί thatll be what determines her future treatment plans
Dont forget to message us for bracelet orders!
Lil Rae being silly this morning β€ still being a trooper with her meds and everything
Quick little update and a video of her attacking her sister lol I forgot to post when it happened but last week we noticed the lymph nodes on the back of her head and neck were swollen so we took her to see her oncologist, since we had a follow up with her anyway, she didnt have any other symptoms so she told us just to keep an eye on it but not to worry. Other than that she still looks good, the meds are definitely starting to take there toll now tho. She gets tired easier, almost always has dark circles under her eyes, and is more irritable than normal but still being her giggly crazy self most of the time. Her MRI is still set for oct 12th and we'll have a follow up on the 14th for the results. Love you all!
Got the call today to schedule the next MRI, its a bit earlier than expected on Oct 12th. Originally they wanted it for 10 weeks after starting her chemo med but with busy scheduling on their end her oncologist said she was ok with the timing (itll be about 6.5 weeks instead) if the results at that point show no change or even growth then we'll be looking at surgery sooner rather than later, so fingers crossed π€ we'll see some shrinkage to let us know the meds are working.
This lil monkey will climb on anything, i swear lol Love you all!
Hey everybody! Raelynn is still doing good, so far no side effects from her chemo meds π shes doing so good its actually very easy to forget any of this is real and happening. Right now we're just enjoying our time at home until the next mri in a couple months, she has another eeg in a few weeks as well. hopefully it shows that this last dose change on her keppra did the trick, i hate knowing she might be having seizures that we cant see :/. Thank you all for being so patient with our updates, since its kinda just a waiting game right now ill start posting more pics and little life updates! π heres us playing in the ball pit at like 11pm last night lol
Update of the earlier update! Her dr sent us a summary of our appointment so we could read it and understand what we heard. So she has whats called a NTRK2-fused infantile high grade glioma tumor, its a tumor that specifically occurs in children under 12 months old. The new medication, Larotrectinib, is a directed form of chemotherapy thats taken by mouth twice a day that specifically stops the growth of cells with the NTRK genetic fusion (that was found in Raelynn's tumor) after a couple months on this they'll do another MRI to (hopefully) see if it shrank any. As of right the neurosurgeons think the can "safely " get 80% of it but if this medication does its job they believe they can get more and make it less invasive if not then we'll be doing the surgery and other types of chemo. Thank you all so very much for continued payers and support β€
Also heres a lil video of her big sis, Faye waking her up from a nap today lol
Mom making her crack up last night.
