Only 17% of social media users say they're addicted. But 59% feel a compulsive need to check an app if they haven't looked in a while.

We asked 600 social media users about their habits. About 66% said they believe these apps were designed to be addictive. That's the same claim thousands of lawsuits allege in federal court. Meta has since agreed to a settlement with a group of states that could be worth as much as $18 billion.
