🎗️ October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️

This October, Orleans Ambulance joins communities across Vermont and the nation in recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer affects millions of individuals and families each year. Awareness, regular screenings, early detection, and support for those facing a diagnosis can make a meaningful difference.

We encourage everyone to:
• Learn about breast cancer risk factors and symptoms
• Stay up to date with recommended screenings
• Support survivors, patients, and their families
• Help spread awareness throughout our community

Together, we honor the strength of survivors, remember those we have lost, and stand with everyone currently battling breast cancer.

💗 Early detection saves lives

Orleans Ambulance was happy to bring a truck out for a touch a truck event alongside Orleans Fire Department in Barton at the COFEC building.

Early introduction for children to Ambulances and fire trucks helps teach children that we as First Responders are not scary, and can help early education in what to do in a case of emergency.

⚠️ PSA: Automated Crash Detection ⚠️

From time to time, we are dispatched to automatic crash alerts generated by devices and apps such as iPhone Crash Detection and Life360.

We think this technology is a great tool. In a serious crash where someone may be injured, unconscious, or unable to reach their phone, an automatic alert can help get emergency services headed their way quickly.
However, these systems can occasionally be triggered accidentally. If that happens to you, please don't feel embarrassed or hesitate to let 911 know that you're okay. Accidental activations happen!

When we receive an automatic crash alert and can't confirm everyone's safety, we treat it just like any other potentially serious motor vehicle crash and respond accordingly.

If you're able to speak with 911, simply let the dispatcher know what happened and whether you're okay or if you do need assistance. Timely communication can prevent or shorten an unnecessary emergency response, allowing Fire and EMS crews to return to quarters and remain available for the next call.

And remember: if you're unsure whether you need help, it's always okay to ask for it. We'd rather respond and find everyone safe than have someone hesitate when they truly need assistance.

Stay safe, and please feel free to share!

The Orleans Ambulance had spent the past few days providing medical coverage for the fair goers of the Vermont's Orleans County Fair.

We at Orleans are proud and happy to interact with the public we serve. We even came in force for the Demo Derby that took place Sunday!

We hope everyone who attended enjoy their time

The Orleans Ambulance stands today alongside agencies across the country in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 lives tragically lost, and many more affected, on this day 25 years ago.

The events of 9/11 shook this country and many across the world. It wasn't just Americans we lost that day, but people from around the world lost something.

Today, as we remember the lost, we also remember the events after. We remember the First Responders and everyday citizens that ran towards the danger in every attempt to save strangers. We remember the workers that scoured through the rubble to rescue or recover those still trapped. Their sacrifices will not go unnoticed.

🇺🇸WE WILL NEVER FORGET🇺🇸
