Through our Life Longings program, Friends of Hospice in Oswego County is bringing a little extra comfort to individuals facing a life-limiting illness this Thanksgiving.

Our Thanksgiving baskets, filled with turkeys and other thoughtful comfort items, are a small way to show care, kindness, and support during a meaningful time of year.

Because sometimes, it’s the little things that remind us we’re not alone 🍁🍂

📅 October 12, 2026 — The Moon Meets Venus and Mercury

🌌 Look toward the western sky after sunset!

A beautiful celestial gathering is expected this evening as the slim crescent Moon appears near bright Venus and Mercury. These three celestial objects will create a lovely scene above the western horizon.

✨ Venus will stand out with its brilliant glow, while Mercury may be harder to find because it will appear low in the fading twilight. The delicate crescent Moon will complete this eye-catching view, making it a special moment for skywatchers and astrophotography lovers.

🔭 How to Watch:

- Find a spot with a clear view of the western horizon.
- Start looking shortly after sunset.
- Try to spot all three objects before they sink below the horizon.
- Binoculars may help you find Mercury, but use them only after the Sun has completely set and never point them toward the Sun.

So many things I’ve worried about, so many things I thought I couldn’t get through, and somehow, I’m still here. Still figuring it out. Still finding my way. Still loving a good sunrise.

A little reminder that whatever you’re going through right now, you’ve made it through hard things before. Give yourself some credit for that. ❤️

Take a deep breath and let this one sink in for a minute. Sometimes the heaviest thing we can carry is what happened yesterday, or even last year. Letting go isn’t always easy, but the heart feels so much lighter when we finally put it down. Hope this sound brings a little bit of peace to your day. 💚
