Your cold and flu season checklist.
Small choices can add up. Start here:
1. Keep your sleep schedule steady: Consistent sleep supports the immune cells that help your body respond to infection. Keep your bedtime and wake time similar, even on weekends.
2. Put Zinc on your plate: Add foods like poultry, beans, lentils, oysters, or pumpkin seeds to meals. Soaking or fermenting plant foods may help with absorption.
3. Keep water nearby: Make hydration easier by keeping water within reach all day, especially while active or under the weather.
4. Refresh indoor air: Crack a window or improve ventilation to help reduce respiratory viruses in shared air.
5. Wash your hands: Respiratory viruses can spread when your hands touch your eyes, nose, or mouth. Regular handwashing helps reduce that risk.
