Why did I start my own physical therapy practice?

Because I wanted the freedom to provide the kind of care I believe every patient deserves. 💜

After years of working within traditional healthcare models, I became frustrated with how often insurance requirements, productivity expectations, and time constraints influenced patient care.

I wanted to spend more time listening, asking questions, understanding the bigger picture, and providing truly individualized treatment.

So I created BodySync Physical Therapy.

A practice where every appointment is 45–60 minutes of uninterrupted, one-on-one care, in a private treatment environment where patients feel comfortable having personal conversations about their health.

Because healthcare is personal. And physical therapy is no exception.

I also wanted the freedom to look beyond the area that’s hurting. To understand the biomechanics, movement patterns, strength, mobility, and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to someone’s symptoms.

And to have conversations that extend beyond traditional physical therapy—including nutrition, recovery, supplementation, cellular health, and longevity.

Because my goal isn’t simply to help someone get out of pain. It’s to help them move better, feel stronger, improve their overall health, and continue doing the things they love for years to come.

I didn’t start BodySync to see more patients. I started it to give each patient MORE.

And one of the greatest privileges of owning my practice is the trust my patients place in me. I never take that lightly.

Thank you for allowing me to practice physical therapy the way I believe it should be practiced. 💜

Physical therapy should be more than just a list of exercises.

Hearing a patient describe the difference that individualized, intentional care has made in her experience means so much to me! 💜

Healthcare is personal. And physical therapy is no exception.

You deserve a private, comfortable environment where you can openly discuss your health concerns, ask questions, receive hands-on treatment, and feel truly heard.

Your care should be intentional. Your treatment should be personalized. And your time with your Doctor of Physical Therapy should be focused on YOU.

One of the greatest privileges of what I do is the trust my patients place in me. I never take that lightly.

I’m incredibly grateful for the relationships I build with my patients and for those willing to share their experiences. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your healthcare journey! 💜

You can be STRONG and still have areas that need work!

Take a closer look at my pull-up. Notice anything? 👀

Watch my LEFT side compared to my right.

It’s subtle, but there’s a difference in how each side moves and contributes to the exercise. And yes, even as a Doctor of Physical Therapy who trains consistently, I have areas of weakness and things I’m continually working to improve!

Strength isn’t always symmetrical. And movement quality matters.

Our bodies are incredibly good at finding ways to accomplish a task. But just because we can complete a movement doesn’t necessarily mean both sides are contributing in the same way.

These differences can be influenced by several factors, including:

• Strength and muscular endurance
• Joint mobility
• Neuromuscular coordination and control
• Previous injuries or movement habits
• Fatigue

And here’s something important: Not every asymmetry is a problem that needs to be corrected.

But recognizing these differences can help us better understand how the body moves and where there may be opportunities to improve.

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I’m looking at more than whether you can complete an exercise. I’m evaluating HOW you move, how your body responds to different demands, and what might be limiting your performance.

Because the goal isn’t just to get stronger. It’s to build strength, improve movement efficiency, and keep doing the things you love for years to come.

Strength matters. Mobility matters. Movement quality matters.

When someone says, “It’s been hurting for months, but I’m sure it’ll go away…” 👀

And suddenly, here I am! 😂

All jokes aside, I hear this more often than you might think.

It’s easy to brush off those little aches and pains, hoping they’ll eventually resolve on their own. And sometimes they do!

But when pain continues for weeks or months, starts limiting your movement, or keeps you from doing the things you love, it’s worth finding out WHY.

Physical therapy isn’t just about treating pain. It’s about understanding what’s contributing to it, improving mobility and strength, and helping you get back to moving with confidence.

You don’t have to wait until pain becomes unbearable to do something about it.

And if you’ve been putting it off… consider this your sign! 😉

Green flags in physical therapy? Let’s talk about them. 💚

Not all physical therapy experiences are the same. And knowing what to look for can make a difference in your care.

🟢 You’re listened to. Your concerns, symptoms, history, and goals are taken seriously.

🟢 You’re thoroughly evaluated. Treatment starts with understanding why you’re experiencing pain or movement limitations, not just where it hurts.

🟢 You receive dedicated one-on-one care. Your appointment is focused on YOU, with your Doctor of Physical Therapy’s full attention—not a therapist juggling multiple patients at once.

🟢 Your privacy is respected. Healthcare is personal, and physical therapy is no exception. You deserve an environment where you feel comfortable discussing your health and receiving treatment without an audience.

🟢 Your treatment is individualized. Your plan is designed around your body, your needs, and your goals—not a one-size-fits-all approach.

🟢 You’re an active part of the process. You understand what you’re working on, why it matters, and how to continue making progress between visits.

🟢 Your care evolves with you. As your needs and goals change, so does your treatment plan. From mobility, strength, and recovery to nutrition, cellular health, and overall wellness, your care considers the bigger picture of your long-term health.

At BodySync Physical Therapy, I believe great care is about more than addressing symptoms. It’s about building relationships, educating patients, restoring movement, developing strength, and helping people continue doing the things they love.

And here’s another green flag: You get to choose your Doctor of Physical Therapy.

I never take it lightly when someone chooses me to be part of their healthcare journey.

Movement is a gift. Strength is a privilege. And neither should be taken for granted.

It’s easy to get caught up in how much weight we’re lifting, how many reps we’re completing, or whether today’s workout was better than yesterday’s.

But sometimes we need to shift our perspective.

Be grateful for the body that allows you to move. For the muscles that respond when you challenge them. For the ability to build strength, improve endurance, and continue doing the things you love.

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I see firsthand how quickly pain, injury, or physical limitations can change someone’s ability to move and participate in everyday life.

And that’s one of the reasons I value exercise so much. It’s not just about how we look or how much we can lift. It’s about preserving our independence, improving our quality of life, and investing in what our bodies will be capable of years from now.

Not every workout will be your best. Not every day will feel strong. But every opportunity to move is something worth appreciating.

Train with intention. Move with gratitude.

When the goalie comes out to play, defend and move that ball forward…and this mama is loving every minute of it! ⚽️

Watching him run, cut, change direction, fight for the ball, and figure things out as he goes is so much fun.

As a mom, I love seeing his determination, confidence, and excitement. And as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I can’t help but appreciate all the strength, balance, agility, coordination, and body awareness developing through something as simple as PLAY and consistency in showing up.

Sometimes we forget what a gift it is to have a body that can move, learn new skills, take on challenges, and get stronger along the way.

At seven years old, it’s not about perfect technique or performance. It’s about having fun, building confidence, and developing a lifelong love for movement.

We are so thankful for Lee’s Summit Legends Soccer Club and Derrick Salim Omesa for coaching our Boone!

Keep moving. Keep playing. And never lose the joy of it Boone!

My social calendar? Questionable. My commitment to my patients? Never. 😂

All jokes aside, I genuinely love what I do—helping people move better, feel better, and get back to doing the things they love.

And when someone chooses me to be part of their care, I don’t take that trust lightly. Being able to build relationships, understand their goals, and help them make meaningful progress is one of the best parts of what I do!

Apparently, my husband has been training for this his whole life. 😂

Not exactly your standard balance assessment, but this takes some serious coordination, balance, strength, and body awareness!

One of the things I love about movement is that it doesn’t always have to look like a workout. Sometimes it’s trying something new, challenging your body in a different way, and having a little fun in the process.

Staying active as we age isn’t just about maintaining strength. It’s about maintaining the ability and confidence to keep doing things that challenge us.

Keep moving. Keep challenging yourself. And don’t stop playing!
