Not all lasers are created equal — and the wavelength matters.
When we talk about laser treatments, we’re not just talking about “a laser.” Different wavelengths interact with different targets in the skin, which is why certain lasers are better suited for pigment, vascular concerns, hair removal, collagen remodeling, or deeper skin rejuvenation.
At Progressive Aesthetics, we use two very different technologies:
✨ NouvaDerm Fractional Laser — designed for fractional resurfacing and collagen remodeling, with customizable treatment depths and downtime depending on your goals.
✨ Cynosure Elite iQ — uses 755 nm + 1064 nm wavelengths, allowing us to target different chromophores and customize treatments for concerns including hair removal, pigment, and vascular lesions.
The takeaway? The wavelength, technology, and settings all matter. A laser isn’t simply “stronger” because it has a higher number — it’s about what that specific wavelength is designed to target and how the treatment is delivered.
That’s why choosing the right laser for your specific concern is so important. We can customize your treatment based on your skin, goals, and desired downtime.
