If a facilitator is afraid of brujería, they are not a facilitator.
They are a frightened participant pretending to be a guide.

One of the biggest fears of someone doing ayahuasca is being subjected to brujería (witchcraft). I think those claims are a little childish.

I have seen "experienced" facilitators and ayahuasca fans, even so-called ayahuasca journalists and investigators, at some point claim that a curandero tried to cast a spell on them or, in general, express fear of witchcraft, complaining that they don't feel safe.

It just makes me think that most of them lack ancestral knowledge, knowledge passed down through their own families.

If you come from a lineage that has worked with ayahuasca or other plant medicines, or, like mine, one that has used herbs and energy work, then your ancestors are part of your protection. They have probably already taught you several ways to protect yourself.

You can't get that if it's not in your blood. You can't get that if you demand, like a child, the protection you didn't receive when you were little.
You can't get that if you're constantly afraid of life.

Constantly blaming curanderos for your fears and low energy doesn't make you an expert. It only reveals how little you understand about the very traditions you claim to know so well.
