📢 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
All Star Health & Wellness ❤️

‼️Beginning December 2026, our new business hours will be: ⬇️⬇️

⭐ Monday, Tuesday & Thursday⭐️
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
I will be available for non-emergent questions by email or the patient portal on the other days.

As many of you know, owning a medical practice in a small rural town without grants or outside funding is challenging. Some days we are extremely busy, and other days we are slow. There is rarely an in-between! This constant “yo-yo” effect makes it difficult to maintain a stable business. This has a lot to do with this decision.

Over the past four years, I have adjusted our hours different times to accommodate our patients, but unfortunately, no schedule is perfect for everyone. Trust me I have tried.

I’m also a wife and mom of three wonderful kids. Between their sports, college, family responsibilities, and running a medical practice, life gets BUSY! ❤️

🩺 What many don’t realize is that a provider’s work doesn’t end when the last patient leaves. Charting, referrals, prior authorizations, lab reviews, insurance issues, and patient messages continue long after office hours. I work in some capacity almost every day.

Unfortunately, insurance reimbursements, unpaid balances, no-shows, cancellations, requesting refills without updated visits, and inconsistent patient volume make running a small independent practice even harder. Hiring additional staff isn’t always financially possible. Free telehealth services also create challenges but again, I will always respect where patients choose to receive their medical care.
There’s no way any practice can compete with free healthcare.

I love my patients and my small practice, but I also have to make decisions that are best for my family and the future of this business.

If our new hours do not work for you, I will NEVER be upset if you choose another provider. Your healthcare decisions are yours, and I fully respect that!

Our business page will soon be temporarily deactivated as we make these changes. This will occur in a few weeks.

Just providing some education.

‼️Viral illnesses and colds do not need an antibiotic. In MOST cases, someone with a cough, runny nose, post nasal drip, without a fever for few days is more likely VIRAL.

➡️No you don’t need an antibiotic because you are going on vacation. “Just in case I need it, send it in because I’m going on vacation soon.”

🩺Always get checked out and have rapid tests along with a physical assessment to rule out other illnesses. If you don’t have bacterial symptoms, then in MOST cases you don’t need an antibiotic.

🩺Again, always get checked by a medical provider if needed, but don’t get upset if you have no fever, coughed 3 times, sneezed twice that started 2 days ago and you DONT get an antibiotic.

➡️Build your immune system up.
➡️Take your vitamins (vitamin C and Zinc are common)
➡️Eat your fruits and veggies
➡️Drink adequate water. Stay hydrated with healthy fluids. Not Diet Coke and energy drinks. Water!
➡️Wash your hands regularly

Antibiotics don’t cure colds and sneezing.

🤪It’s the season for viral illnesses and colds.

‼️Again, always seek medical attention if your symptoms are not improving or if you have more bacterial symptoms.

Things I’ve learned about owning a business in a small rural town… 😂

• There are SLOW days and BUSY days. There is absolutely no in-between.
• Sometimes strangers will support you more than locals.
• Jealousy is REAL. 😬
• Small-town talk travels faster than Wi-Fi. 😂
• There is NO “making bank” when you own a business in a rural town.
• People WILL text and call you at night, on weekends, and on your days off… but somehow forget the office is open during actual business hours. 🤣
• No-shows and last-minute cancellations are COMMON.
• And whatever you do… DON’T TOUCH A THING in your office without checking to see if you need a permit first. 🤪😂

But through all the craziness, we keep showing up, keep working hard, and so thankful for all the real support.
