A gentle Halloween week note from your pharmacist friend: with candy bowls everywhere, keep medicines and vitamins up high and in their original bottles. Some gummies look a lot like treats, and little hands are quick. Questions? We're happy to help at

So much of concierge care happens in the quiet spaces between appointments.

It's the call to a provider's office to clear up a question before it becomes a delay. It's noticing that two different doctors are each caring for the same person and making sure everyone is on the same page. It's taking a few extra minutes so a family doesn't have to be the messenger in the middle.

None of it shows up on a receipt, and most people never see it. But I think it's some of the most meaningful work we do as pharmacists. When the people caring for someone are connected, that person gets to feel calm instead of stretched.

That is what we try to offer every day at My Concierge Pharmacy, right here in our community: https://www.myconciergepharmacy.com

For my fellow pharmacists, owners, and providers: what's one way you keep care connected for the people you serve?

A sweet Sunday ritual from your pharmacist friend: fill the weekly pill organizer while the coffee brews. It makes busy mornings calmer. Questions while you're sorting? We're happy to help at https://www.myconciergepharmacy.com. Do you have a Sunday ritual?

October is American Pharmacists Month, and I'm thankful for my fellow pharmacists. We love the questions, the "is this ok to take with that," the quick check ins. Please don't ever feel like you're bothering us. What's one question you've always wanted to ask?

Blessings, Dr.J

A gentle Friday note from your pharmacist friend: if a refill is running low, call it in a few days early, especially before a weekend. It gives us time to sort out any little hiccups so you're never left waiting. What helps you remember your refills?

One of my favorite parts of concierge care is the follow up.

It's a small thing. A quick call a few days after someone starts something new, just to ask how it's going. Most of the time the answer is "I'm doing fine," and that's a lovely answer to hear. Sometimes it's a question they didn't want to bother anyone with, and we get to sort it out together before it turns into a worry.

I've come to believe that care isn't only what happens at the counter. It's the moment someone realizes their pharmacist actually remembered them and cared enough to check in.

That is the heart of what we do. Close to our neighbors, unhurried, and always a phone call away.

For my fellow pharmacists, owners, and providers: what's one small habit that helps your patients feel truly cared for?

Blessings, Dr.J

Holiday trips are coming up fast, so a gentle note from your pharmacist friend: keep your medicines in your carry on, not the checked bag. Delays happen, and you'll want them close. Any questions before you go? We're always happy to help. Safe travels, y'all!

Independent pharmacies are not competing against each other. We are competing against the chains and mail order. We still make up about 30% of the pharmacies in this country. When we organize and work together, we get stronger and still stay independent. Blessings, Dr.J

One small thing I love seeing: a patient with an up to date list of their medicines on their phone or in their wallet. It makes every doctor visit and every pharmacy question so much easier. Not sure where to start? Your pharmacist is happy to help you make one.

Some of my favorite moments at the pharmacy happen when nobody is in a hurry.

A patient stops by with a question they've been carrying for a while. Maybe it's about timing, or how a new medicine fits with everything else on their list, or just wanting someone to look at the whole picture with them. In concierge care, we get to slow down for that. We sit, we listen, and we sort it out together.

I've learned that people rarely need more information. They need a person they trust, who knows them by name and will pick up the phone when something feels off.

That's the kind of pharmacy I wanted to build. Not bigger, just closer.

To my fellow pharmacists, owners, and providers: what's one way you make room for those unhurried conversations in a busy week?

Blessings, Dr.J
