Not the itinerary we’d choose, but we show up with the whole crew: American Girl doll, Brave Bear (her least important companion, naturally. ), and whatever bougie pajamas she rounds up.

Holding it down at Boston Children’s. Somebody’s gotta do it.

And thank goodness for Child Life, who always make room for the whole crew.

Thought October would be easier. No evidence to support that.✌️

Judging by the unhinged videos we keep sending each other, med moms agree. But hey, just keep dancing. xoxoxo 😅

With all the meds we manage, you’d think shaking it on a dive bar dance floor would be an included Rx. Don’t we all deserve it?

Drop your guilty pleasure dance song. We need a playlist for next time. xoxoxo 🪩

She doesn’t know how lucky she is for the research part. We do. But she knows how lucky she is for the magic. Luckily, at Boston Children’s Hospital ’s, they have both. 💜

Charlotte said she hopes kids having hospital sleepovers have the good ones (“with friends Child Life Services at Boston Children’s Hospital , nice PJs, and all the crafts”).

I always ask if she wants to participate in things like this. When asked to represent New Hampshire for Give a Smile, she said yes and basically retitled herself “Miss NH.” Without even knowing what that is, she did it in style and loved every second. Attended events like a true queen, had a badge made at Shaw’s, and signed autographs until we had to steal her away. Where does her lack of chill come from? Idk?? 😂

This year’s campaign at Shaw’s and Star Market raised $1.2 million for Boston Children’s Hospital!

While the campaign wrapped up in most places in July, select locations kept it going through August, including ours. I like to think that says a little something about how our small but mighty Seacoast showed up.

So proud of our now big, bad, sassy 6-year-old. Thank you to Shaw's starmarkets , and everyone who donated and showed our girl so much love. You’re helping make life better for families like mine.

For all the brave bears. 💜

When Charlotte was diagnosed with epilepsy, it felt like our whole world became epilepsy.

I had loved my work in healthcare and supporting my team, but after her diagnosis, so much of life suddenly felt trivial. I dove headfirst into epilepsy advocacy, learning everything I could and trying to turn something terrifying into something meaningful.

Back then, I couldn’t have imagined feeling this invested in something as wonderfully normal as our school PTO.

But being part of our PTO board has honestly been such a gift. It keeps me grounded in our day-to-day life, gives me another place to care deeply and make a difference, and reminds me that I can still carry the fear that comes with being an epilepsy parent while letting the rest of our life be full too.

We’ve also been incredibly lucky with the teachers and school community surrounding Charlotte, and the more they show up for her, the more I want to show up for them.

So if you’re still in the part where a diagnosis feels like it has swallowed everything, here’s your hope:

It may always be part of your world.

But one day, it won’t be your whole world.

Life gets bigger again. 🤍
