Earlier this month, my team and I went on a site visit to bring EASE to life- we thought about each excursion, delicious meal, moment of peace and how to make the EASE Retreat a trip of true relaxation (where you end the day without depleting all of your spoons 🥄). As someone who has traveled the world, I want to make sure no detail was overlooked to create a space where we can truly unwind.

I am looking forward to next year and bringing together and incredible group of women to share our experiences and support each other beyond a screen.

Link is in my bio and spaces are limited 🧡 This time next year, let’s meet in Maui ✨🌺🌴

I don’t want to be an inspiration today. Sometimes I want to put on a beautiful dress, go to dinner, order something expensive, and have absolutely none of it mean anything.

MS has changed my day to day life and taken things from me that is hard to put into words. I am so proud of the community and platform I have built since my diagnosis. However, there are days that I don’t want to be reminded that I’m showing other people what’s possible despite it.

Not everything about me is a symptom. Not everything I accomplish is a victory over adversity.

There is something uncomfortable about realizing that people sometimes find your life more meaningful because they imagine it must be harder than theirs.

And sometimes I want to say, can I just have a regular Tuesday?

Today’s post on being perceived as inspirational since diagnosis is posted on my Substack- check it out through the link in my bio 🧡

Someone’s gotta hold it down🪽

I never would have expected a decade ago to be spending so much time between hospital visits, doctor’s appointments and calls with insurance providers. No one tells you that having a chronic illness becomes a full time job managing.

However, this angel is sending a call out to my fellow MS warriors that I would love to have you on Maui for the EASE retreat! It will be time to come together in sisterhood to rest, connect and enjoy everything that the island has to offer. 🌴

Link in my bio and spots are filling up fast- would love to see you there 🧡

Reflecting on the Martha’s Vineyard screening with Oprah Winfrey Network and I was talking to a friend about 2026 and when I think of these past ten months it feels sometimes that three years has transpired in the same about of time.

What’s been most special are All In My Head Documentary impact screenings. We’ve been all over the world this year and I’ve enjoyed getting to meet so many of you in real life and even more honored to have been able to introduce to these amazing women.

Our Chicago screening is tomorrow, if you are here in town I would love to see you! We still have a few community tickets available.

Excited to be back home.

There’s a question people often ask when your life has been interrupted by illness. They want to know whether you think you’ll ever get back to normal.

Everyone wants to believe there is a version of the story where things eventually return to the way they were.

For a long time, I wanted that, too.

For my old body and its capabilities- the things I took for granted. The ability to hop out of bed and make plans without evaluating my energy levels first. A schedule free of regular doctor’s appointments and medication refills. Not having to pay attention to myself all of the time.

But lately I’ve been asking myself a question that feels strange to admit. What if I don’t actually want my old life back?

When I think back to the woman I was before 2018, I think fondly about Marti who wanted to be everywhere, do it all and be everything to everyone. She was all gas, no breaks.

Then I got sick. And suddenly, the very thing I had built so much of my identity around became something I couldn’t always do- and it showed up in the ways I didn’t expect, but in retrospect, am now so grateful for. ✨

Today’s posts on my eight year journey since diagnosis is on my substack. Link is in my bio to read 🧡

Traveling these days are all in all one bad option after the other. Which flight option would you have picked? I just want to get home with what little spoons I have left.
