Is sitting the new smoking? πŸ‘‡

Not quite. But hours of sitting every day still takes a real toll on your body.

What sitting does over time:

❌ Tight hips that pull on your lower back
❌ Glutes that forget how to fire
❌ Shoulders and head that round forward

The good news? You can undo a lot of it with the right movements.

That’s what this series is about.

β†’ Today: What sitting does to your body
β†’ Tomorrow, Part 2: Your first anti-sitting exercise
β†’ Thursday, Part 3: One more move to keep you strong and moving well

This is the first time she's ever exercised regularly. πŸ‘‡

β€œI absolutely love Breakhhru Fitness! It’s the first time I’ve ever been exercising regularly, and I’m having a blast.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Margaret T., Google review

Read that again.

First time. Ever.

Margaret didn’t need a harder workout or a stricter diet. She needed a place she actually wanted to come back to.

That’s what consistency really runs on:

β†’ A program built around your schedule
β†’ Coaches who know your name and your goals
β†’ A group that notices when you’re missing and gives you tough love.

Fun isn’t just a bonus. It’s the strategy.
The workout you love is the workout you keep.

Thank you, Margaret. We love having you in the room.

I’ve been a trainer for 30 years. I’ve never seen so many women lifting weights as I do today.

The weight floor is full. Not the cardio deck.
Dumbbells.
Kettlebells.
Barbells.

And they’re not lifting light. They’re lifting heavy.

Cardio is still great... but strength is the foundation of longevity fitness.

β†’ Lean muscle holds up your metabolism, your energy and your strength
β†’ Muscle loss starts in your 30s and speeds up after 40 unless you train for it
β†’ Women lose bone density faster - lifting is one of the few things that builds it back

Lose weight without lifting and you lose muscle with it.
Smaller and weaker was never the goal

60% of our clients are women. Ages 23 to 84. Yes, all the way up to 84!

If you’ve been circling that side of the gym, waiting to feel like you belong, you already do.

Get started this week.

Why is stability one of the most skipped training methods in fitness when it's one of the most important?

πŸ‘‰Welcome to my Friday No BS RantπŸ‘ˆ

People think it's boring.
They think it's for older people.
They think it's what you do when you can't do the real work.

So they skip it and go straight to loading heavy weight on a body that lacks the foundation to support it.

You know what happens?
The weak link breaks.

And it's not the big muscles that break down. It's the unstable joints.

Do these 3️⃣ things before you add load:

β†’ Mobility. The joint's ability to move through a full range of motion.
β†’ Flexibility. How far the surrounding muscles can lengthen.
β†’ Stability. The joint's ability to hold position while force moves through it.

Take the knee. It gets hurt because the ankle below it and the hip above it aren't doing their jobs, so the knee moves in ways it was never built to move.

Here are a few easy ways to integrate stability into your regular program:

β†’ Bicep curl, standing on one leg
β†’ Triceps, same thing
β†’ Core work half-kneeling and kneeling, so the legs can't help
β†’ Step-ups, split squats, any single-leg or single-arm exercise

Nothing exotic. Nothing extra. Built into the work you're already doing.

Now go look at your program.
If none of that's in there, you don't have a complete program.

It's not a matter of IF something gives out. It's a matter of WHEN.

πŸ‘‰ Come see how we build it. Free week. Link in bio.

How can your bicep curls actually help your posture? πŸ‘‡

Most people curl like this:

❌ Shoulders rounded forward
❌ Leaning way back, which loads the lower back

Try this instead:

β†’ Split stance, stand tall
β†’ Shoulder blades slightly pinched back, head up, eyes forward
β†’ Hold that position through every rep

Stronger arms. Taller posture. Safer back.

Every curl is a posture rep.

One exercise. Three ways to train. πŸ‘‡

The Wall Ball is simple: squat, throw the ball up to the wall, catch it and drop right back into your squat.

What changes is how you do it:

β†’ Endurance: Lighter ball, faster pace. Keep it moving.
β†’ Strength: Heavier ball, slower reps. Own every one.
β†’ Mobility: Sink deep into the bottom of your squat and let your hips open up.

Same ball. Same wall. Totally different results.

That’s how we train at Breakthru Training Studio. Every exercise has a purpose, and your coach adjusts it to fit you. Go to our website to get a free week, so you can try us out and see and feel if we’re right for you.

Everyone at our studio knows Hank. Not everyone likes him. πŸ‘‡

Hank is what we call our Tank, a sled push built to work right on concrete.

No turf needed.
One machine.
Full body.

Three ways to use it:

β†’ Push: Heels up, drive through the balls of your feet. Your legs do the work while your core and upper body hold it all together.
→ Pull: Chest up, hips back, and pull it toward you. Same muscles, brand new challenge.
→ Load it: Add resistance as you get stronger.

Simple to learn.
Easy on the joints.
Hard in all the right ways.

Strong legs keep you moving for life.

Feelings have nothing to do with it.

Some days you'll want to train.

Most days you won't.

Neither one matters.

Motivation is a feeling. A decision isn't.

Decide Tuesday and Thursday. Now it's not up for debate. You already settled it.

Ten minutes in, the resistance is gone and you're just training.

Every time.

The hard part has a shelf life. The results don't.

Decide. Then go.

Do the hard thing first.

Before the day fills up.
Before the excuses show up.
Before you have a reason not to.

We've got a group that trains at 5:30am. They're not suffering through it.

They've figured out that what you do first is what actually gets done.

Everything after it gets easier.

New week. Go first.

Boring works.

Welcome to my Friday No BS Rant.

Here's the list:

Strength train three times a week.
Sleep, stretch, recover.
Eat your protein.
Drink your water.

Nothing special. Nothing unique. You already knew all of it.

Do it for a year and your body changes.
Do it for five and your life does.

That's the whole thing.

Most people won't.
Not because it's hard.
Because it's repetitive and nobody likes boring.

So they go looking for a hack.
There isn't one.

Success is doing the boring things everyone knows about and almost nobody does.

Small deposits.
Consistently.
Every day.

Get good at being boring. It'll change your life.
