I was living in my van. I had lost everything. Today, I help others find recovery."
Recovery can begin with one decision to ask for help.

Terri's journey is a powerful reminder that no one is beyond hope. After struggling with addiction, relapse, homelessness, and unimaginable loss, he reached a point where he knew something had to change.

Through Evolve Life Centers' Second Chance Program, Terri chose to surrender, trust the process, and commit to recovery one day at a time. Today, he not only lives a healthier life, he works alongside the very team that helped save his life, giving back to others who are beginning their own recovery journey.

His message is simple but powerful:
"If I can do this, anybody can."

"You can love someone with your whole heart and still feel helpless watching them struggle with addiction.”

Addiction can turn a family's world upside down. It can leave parents afraid, loved ones exhausted, and relationships strained by broken promises and uncertainty. Sometimes, families find themselves asking the same questions over and over: How do I help someone I love? What do I do when they won't accept help?

People call it a halfway house like you are only halfway better. That label bugged me. I wasn't halfway anything. I was building a life, with training wheels I was grateful to have.

In sober living I went to work, did laundry, argued about the dishes, and stayed sober. Normal life, with people in my corner. That's not halfway. That's a runway.

Sometimes, one day can change the way a child sees the world. 💜

For Bring Your Kids to Work Day at Evolve, the kids got more than a tour of our workplace. They received their own name badges, explored different career paths, learned about our values, and shared what those values mean to them.

But the most powerful moments happened in the conversations and connections along the way.

One child who had stopped attending therapy was inspired by a conversation with Eddie, one of our mental health therapists, to give therapy another try. Two other children formed a friendship that has continued beyond Evolve, even sharing a trip to Orlando this year.

These are the moments that remind us why what we do matters. Sometimes, all it takes is a welcoming space, a meaningful conversation, or a new friendship to help a young person see new possibilities.

Because the impact of what we do reaches far beyond the people we serve. It touches families, builds connections, and creates hope for the next generation.

If you are passionate about helping adults navigate mental health challenges and substance use recovery, this role offers meaningful clinical work in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Your responsibilities will include:
Providing in person group therapy once a week.
Completing assessments and treatment planning when needed.
Maintaining timely, accurate clinical documentation.
Working alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver culturally competent, trauma informed care.

There may also be opportunities to provide individual and family therapy.
Applicants must hold a master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field and an active Maryland license: LGPC, LMSW, LCPC, or LCSW C. In person availability is required. Experience working with adults in outpatient or residential settings is preferred.

The opportunity offers competitive per session compensation, flexible hours, and administrative support, with a team culture that values connection, collaboration, and professional growth.
