Hunting Season Is Here — Know the Signs. Save a Life.
As deer season kicks off, we're reminding hunters to take care of more than just their hunting gear — take care of your HEART, too!
Hunting can be physically demanding, especially when climbing hills, walking through rough terrain, dragging a deer, or being exposed to cold temperatures. These activities can put extra stress on your heart.
🚨 Know the warning signs of a heart attack:
-Chest pain, pressure, or discomfort
-Shortness of breath
-Pain in the arms, back, neck, or jaw
-Dizziness, nausea, or cold sweats
❤️ Know what to do in an emergency!
A heart attack and cardiac arrest are NOT the same thing. If someone suddenly collapses, is unresponsive, and isn't breathing normally:
📞 Call 911 immediately!
👐 Start hands-only CPR! Push hard and fast in the center of the chest at 100–120 compressions per minute. Use an AED as soon as one is available.
Immediate CPR can DOUBLE or TRIPLE someone's chance of survival!
Whether you're heading into the woods alone or with your hunting buddies, knowing these warning signs and how to respond could save a life.
