When someone is drowning, that is NOT the time to teach them how to swim.
𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲.
Think about it.
The business owner struggling to keep everything afloat.
The employee silently overwhelmed by circumstances no one knows about.
The adult child balancing a career, family, and the growing needs of aging parents.
The family suddenly facing a medical crisis.
𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆.
They need someone willing to meet them where they are.
Someone who listens before offering advice.
Someone who offers solutions instead of judgment.
Someone who understands that sometimes, just getting through today is enough.
As an entrepreneur and someone who works with families navigating some of lifes most difficult decisions, I've learned something important:
𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.
𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺.
There will always be time to educate, prepare, coach, and reflect. But when someone is struggling to stay above water, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
You're not doing this alone.
Because at the end of the day, whether in business, healthcare, leadership, or life...
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝗺. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿.💬
Are we sometimes so focused on offering advice that we forget to recognize when someone simply needs support?
