Joint discomfort during menopause can make everyday activities feel harder than they should.

The good news? There are ways to support your body.

Depending on your needs, care may include:
👉 Hands-on treatment
👉 Gentle, targeted movement
👉 Mobility strategies
👉 Strength and stability work
👉 Lifestyle support to help manage inflammation
👉 Practical ways to move more comfortably throughout the day

The goal isn’t to force your body into doing more. It’s to understand what your body needs and build from there—at a pace that feels supportive.

Ready to explore your options? Send us a message or schedule a session. We’d be happy to talk with you about your goals.

During my own breast cancer treatment journey, I experienced medically induced menopause after a total hysterectomy and later began hormone-blocking therapy.

The hormonal shift was significant—and so was the impact on my joints.

My elbows, hands, hips, knees, and feet became stiff and achy. After sitting for even 30 minutes, standing up could feel like my body had suddenly aged several decades.

It was frustrating, humbling, and deeply personal—especially as someone whose work centers around helping others move and feel better.

That experience gave me an even greater level of empathy for people navigating chronic pain and hormonal changes.

Your pain is real. Your experience matters. And you deserve support—not just advice to “tough it out.”

If your joint pain is affecting your work, sleep, movement, or quality of life, send us a message or schedule a session. Let’s talk about how we may be able to support you.

If you’ve been thinking:
▪ “Why am I so stiff in the morning?”
▪ “Why do my hips hurt after sitting?”
▪ “Why do my hands feel achy all of a sudden?”

You are not alone—and you’re not being dramatic.

Estrogen plays a role in supporting tissues throughout the body. When hormone levels shift during natural or medically induced menopause, some people experience increased stiffness, aching, and discomfort.

That doesn’t mean every ache is caused by menopause. But it does mean these symptoms deserve to be part of the conversation—not automatically dismissed as “just aging.”

Save this post as a reminder: your symptoms are information, not an inconvenience.

When menopause enters the conversation, we often hear about hot flashes, sleep changes, and mood shifts.

But what about the joint stiffness that makes getting out of a chair feel like a full-body negotiation?

Hormonal changes can affect the joints and surrounding tissues, leading to:
👉 Morning stiffness
👉 Achy hips, knees, hands, or feet
👉 Shoulder tension
👉 Discomfort after sitting for a while
👉 Feeling less mobile than you used to

These symptoms are real—and they’re worth talking about. Joint pain isn’t something you simply have to “push through” because you’re getting older.

Have you noticed changes in your joints during menopause or another hormonal transition? Share your experience below.

If pain is new, severe, worsening, or accompanied by swelling or other concerning symptoms, check in with your healthcare provider.

Did you know there’s a form of yoga designed specifically for lymphatic support?

Lymphatic flow yoga blends mindfulness, breathwork, lymph self-treatment, and gentle movement to encourage lymphatic movement.

Kristin, our lymphatic expert, completed teacher training in this style—and she’s been incorporating elements into lymph drainage therapy with clients.

If lymphatic support is part of your plan, we’d love to help you find a safe practice.
Reply “LYMPH” and we’ll get you connected with Kristin.

If your body’s been stuck in “on” mode, restorative-style yoga can be your wind-down.

These practices are intentionally gentle—built around comfort, supports, and breath—so you can help your nervous system downshift.

If you’d like help pairing yoga with your therapy goals, reach out to the clinic this week and we'll help create a calming, pain-aware plan.

Yin yoga is one of our favorites for a reason.

Poses are held longer—often 3 to 10 minutes—which gives your body time to soften and release more deeply. It can feel similar to the “slow and steady” approach of Myofascial Release.

And important: Yin is NOT about pushing.
It’s about using supports (bolsters, blocks, blankets) so your body can be comfortable enough to let go.

Tonight, try a “mini yin” at home:
Lie down, legs in butterfly with pillows under your knees (or bolster support)
Slow breathing for 2–5 minutes
Let everything get heavy

Vinyasa yoga = flowing from one pose to the next with your breath.

This can be a powerful option for people who want to build strength, increase flexibility, and improve stability.

But here’s the chronic-pain twist:
In a pain-aware practice, you’re not chasing range—you’re practicing controlled movement + breath-led pacing.

Have you ever tried vinyasa before?

Tell us: yes / no / “I tried once and it was too much.” (We’ll meet you where you are.)
