Diagnosed as a baby with Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA), Hannah faced progressive vision loss that would have eventually led to blindness. After receiving gene therapy in both eyes at age 7, her vision improved dramatically, allowing her to experience many everyday sights for the first time. Today, at 15, Hannah is a confident, strong-minded teenager who enjoys baking, attending concerts and riding horses.

The treatment, LUXTURNA, offers hope for children with a rare, inherited form of blindness. Developed through decades of research, collaboration and innovation by teams at CHOP and , this breakthrough has helped change Hannah's future.
