Traveling is amazing. Going on a retreat is amazing- but what if both at the same time are just not possible?

What if going to a retreat in your own backyard was the most retreat like thing you could do?

Would you wanna go?

I wanna hear all your thoughts!

Hello friends!
I wanted you to hear this from me: some changes are coming to Reaching Better Alternatives!

Even before Baby Grace arrived on January 10, I’d been wanting to take my work in a new direction, and now after 9 months, I am birthing a new kind of baby!

My journey as a massage therapist has taught me so much about listening to the body and the messages it contains. As I’ve developed my methods and techniques, I’ve discovered that the body is just the beginning.

When we look at our thoughts, habits, patterns, and beliefs, we can begin to understand the choices we make, the relationships we maintain, and what we believe is possible for ourselves and the world around us.

I’m bringing all of this together to offer you more alternatives. See what I did there? 😉

If you’re receiving this email, you’re part of the path that brought me here. Thank you for trusting me with your story and your body. You’ve helped shape this work, and I’m grateful for you!

I’ll be sharing more about what’s taking shape as it develops. I’m also switching my scheduling platform, so over the next week, you’ll start receiving emails from me through a new platform.

In the meantime, I recorded a little video to share more about the direction I’m headed.

If you’d like to stay connected, you can also join me in my Skool community and find me on all the socials! Check out my Linktree in the bio!

I’m so excited to share what I’ve been working on, and I look forward to seeing you there!

Are you tired of people making excuses?

I know I am.

Especially when someone uses their trauma as an excuse for bad behavior.

Knowing why you’re acting like an as***le is not the same as apologizing for being one.

Stop making excuses and just say you’re sorry.

And then don’t do it again 🤷🏼‍♀️

You wanna know what I never get tired of talking about?

People. And no, I don’t mean low-level gossip. 😂

I want to know where you’ve been, what you’ve lived through, what you want, and what that little voice says every time you get close to going after it.

I’ve never met someone without a dream - and I’ve met plenty of people who can tell me exactly why they can’t have theirs.

Their history, conditioning, and patterns are all part of the puzzle. But a person is more like a Rubik’s Cube than a flat picture. Turn one piece, and you might see a side that was there all along.

That’s the conversation I usually get to have with my clients. This week, I got to have it behind a microphone. 🎙️

I’ve followed and learned from Nicole Cherie Hesse for years, so I was thrilled to join her on Real Unicorns Don’t Wear Pants to talk about my work and give her a reading. 🦄

Nicole is an open book about her healing journey and the self-sabotage patterns that kept her stuck in dysfunction and chronic pain. I knew we’d have plenty to talk about. But I was also a little nervous: how much farther can someone who has already done so much work actually go?

As it turns out, another layer came into view. One she was ready to look at, question, and begin to let go of.

That’s the part of my work I never get tired of. I love helping people understand why their bodies might be asking for attention. But I really love when someone sees a pattern they’ve already sorted through and finds a new way to untangle it.

I went on the podcast to share my work. I left grateful that Nicole was willing to share a piece of her own process with me and everyone listening. That kind of openness takes courage.

My Unicorn Beat feature and conversation are live. Drop a 🎙️below and I’ll send you the link!

Give it a listen and tell me what comes up for you. Maybe there’s a part of your own Rubik’s Cube you’re ready to turn.

Is your life reflecting who you are becoming?

The last several months have led us to this moment and now a choice gets to be made.

What in my life reflects the person I was and what in my life reflects the person I am currently?

Can you allow the past to follow away, just as the leaves fall off the trees?

It’s story time!

Several years ago my client Caroline* came to me with a nagging upper back and shoulder pain that was making it harder for her to focus at work and adding stress to her already busy life.

During her intake she shared all of the changes in her life; changing jobs, celebrating a milestone birthday and moving in with her partner.

I was able to help her understand that this nagging pain was intertwined with not just her current stressful situations, but that her life-long patterns of “grin and bear it” was a contributing factor to her pain.

She was ready to ReCreate her Reality!

Over the course of 3 months, not only did we bring her nagging neck and shoulder pain down from a 6 out of 10 to a 2 out of 10, Caroline was able to recognize that when her pain was loudest, it was her body’s way of telling her to either slow down or to speak up.

Once she worked through the inherited patterns of blame, shame and guilt that had kept her quiet she was able to have meaningful conversations and set healthy boundaries that honored her needs.

She learned how to meditation and listen to her body’s messages in real time, preventing her pain from taking center stage in her life.

Since working together, Caroline has gone on to shift the trajectory of her career multiple times finding better opportunities with higher pay. She has gotten married and her relationships with her family have improved. Caroline feels more confident in speaking her truth and this has translated beyond her personal relationships and into her career so that she no longer takes on roles that she does not want to take on. The cherry on top is that her neck pain is an occasional reminder to pay more attention to herself and is no longer the Oscar winning star in the movie of her life.

Helping people take their healing into their own hands so they can break out of the cage of chronic pain and live pain free lives and create life on their own terms, is more rewarding than words can describe.

Do you or someone you know live with chronic pain that won’t quit?

Do you have chronic back pain that won’t quit?

It’s a nagging ache that lives below the surface that you have slowly become numb to.

Yet despite learning to ignore that ache, it’s always there, like the hum of a refrigerator in the background.

No matter what you do, it won’t go away. Dry needling, tripper point therapy, physical therapy, hot yoga, chiropractor, red light therapy. They help, but only for a day or two.

The truth is that all the things you have been doing have helped you, just not in a way that creates lasting results

We have to create space within the body at a rate that creates safety and allows the change to take hold

If we do too much too fast, the body will rebel and go back to where it feels safe - the place of pain.

So all the things you did before were moving the needle. But you have to support the whole system and not just one aspect. Otherwise it makes the body feel unsafe, and it rebels against any real change, any real relief.

When you allow yourself to be supported and make micro changes in multiple arenas in your life, this is where lasting change can occur.

Because microchanges are what creates the feeling of safety within the body. And when you have safety, you can create long lasting relief.

You can ReCreate Your Reality.

Can you be a rebel and still be grateful?

Typically, we don’t equate rebellion with gratitude.

When I think of a rebel, I think of John Travolta in “Grease”, leaning against a wall hunched over a cigarette with a devil may care smile. Leather jackets, slicked back hair, ci******es and fast cars.

This is not an image that brings the feeling of gratitude.

Rebellion spits in the face of everything it was ever taught.

But what if what you were taught was wrong, and it deserves the middle finger?

What if you could be grateful for the life lessons you received from being taught all the wrong things?

Can you be a rebel and still be grateful?

Two things can be true at the same time.

I gave a reading today where this question was brought to light.

The client was confronting some childhood wounding that was repeating itself for them as an adult.

They want to rebel against the conditioning, the wounding. But grief and guilt can keep us stuck, or rather it can stick to us, in the form of hip pain.

The client was able to lean into gratitude for the lessons the wounding brought about, and while also embracing the freedom of rebellion and leaving behind the guilt and the grief. Or at least a larger piece of it. Rome wasn’t built in a day and one reading doesn’t solve a lifetime of wounding and conditioning.

When we grow and evolve, it can feel like we are leaving people behind. It can feel like we are abandoning them. When in reality, we are clearing the path for others to follow.

It can feel lonely and scary. It can feel like rebellion.

But if we can move forward from a place of rebellious gratitude for all the things we were taught, it allows us to move forward with ease. Our rebellion is the most healing thing we can engage in.

What if being a rebel is living in gratitude? What if living in gratitude is the rebellion?

A rebellion without gratitude is a pointless war that leaves everyone a loser on the battlefield.

A rebellion with gratitude clears a path towards redemption.

What does this bring up for you? What are you struggling to rebel against in your life?

Can you let yourself be grateful for the struggle and allow yourself to leave it behind?

Are you married to your job?

When you’re an entrepreneur, you have to be.

You have to be willing to dedicate yourself to the bitter end, in sickness and in health.

Just like in a marriage, in a business you have to be willing to grow together. Otherwise the relationship becomes stale, stressful, and unappealing.

You have to start talking yourself into showing up, knowing you’ve made a commitment, and the last thing you want to do is walk away feeling like you’ve wasted your time.

So you start to look elsewhere. It’s the 80/20 rule.

You start looking for the 20% - the fun, the ability to come and go as you please, the ability to leave the mess behind so you can go home feeling refreshed and supported in an entirely different way.

So you get a “part-time job to help pay the bills.”

But really, you’ve given up.

I started working at the nearby casino giving poker players chair massages while they sit for hours hoping it all pays off.

It’s been fun, but it’s reminding me what I’m missing out on in my business.

So now I have a couple options.

I can go back to my business and try to apologize and explain away the betrayal, or I can walk away and never look back.

I am choosing to work on my relationship to my business. I am choosing to allow my business to grow with me, instead of walking away.

I am not just a hippy turned massage therapist.

I am here as a tour guide of inner healing.
I help people heal chronic pain using spiritually aligned mind-body techniques without pain meds.

My highest calling is to help people break down the mass cultural conditioning that keeps people on the hamster wheel of misalignment and prevents them from claiming their birthright.

Join me as I revamp my business and bring IT and MYSELF into our new era.
