Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! 🌿
One year ago, here in the Catskill Mountains, we opened the Sacred Bridge at Menla—a bridge between worlds, bringing together the ancient cultures and traditions of the Himalayas and the Amazon through the Tibetan people and the Yawanawá family.
Today is an opportunity to honor Indigenous peoples everywhere—their cultures, wisdom, languages, spiritual traditions, and enduring relationship with the Earth. It is also a day to recognize the importance of protecting Indigenous lands, respecting Indigenous sovereignty, and ensuring that these living traditions continue to thrive for generations to come.
The Sacred Bridge represents what becomes possible when cultures come together with respect, reciprocity, and an open heart. May it continue to remind us that across mountains, forests, and continents, we are connected—to one another, to the Earth, and to the ancestral wisdom and practices that teach us how to live in deeper relationship with the natural world.
With deep gratitude to the Indigenous peoples of North America, the Tibetan communities, and the Yawanawá family, whose wisdom, traditions, and friendship brought the Sacred Bridge to life. 🌿🙏
