🌿Next up for HERBS A–Z is for CATNIP

Yes… CATNIP. 😂🌿

And no, it’s not just for the cats! 🐈

Catnip (Nepeta cataria) has been used traditionally by humans as an herbal remedy for generations. While cats may go wild for it, humans tend to experience it quite differently.

Traditionally, Catnip has been used as a gentle relaxing and digestive herb and has commonly been prepared as an herbal tea.

Some traditional uses include:

🌿 Supporting relaxation and calm
🌿 Easing occasional digestive discomfort
🌿 Supporting healthy digestion
🌿 Traditionally used for occasional restlessness
🌿 Traditionally used as a gentle warming herb

One of my favorite things about herbalism is discovering that familiar plants can have uses that we never knew about. Catnip is a perfect example! 🌿

For humans, Catnip can be enjoyed as a tea or infusion, and it can also be found in herbal blends like my Mintea Medley 🫖

Want to explore Catnip for yourself? You can find it (and me!) at Green Goddess House of Herbs. I’m there every Friday, so come say hey and explore the shop. 💚

And be sure to follow Green Goddess House of Herbs for more herbs, herbal education, and what’s happening in the shop. Green Goddess House Of Herbs

Did you know Catnip was an herb for humans, too? 👀 Lemme know in the comments ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Next up in Herbs A–Z: Blue Vervain (Verbena hastata)! 💙🌿

Blue vervain has a long history of traditional use as a bitter, nervine, and relaxing herb. Herbalists have traditionally worked with it to support the nervous and digestive systems, particularly when tension shows up in the body.

Some traditional uses include:

🌿 Nervous tension and occasional stress
🌿 Digestive discomfort and sluggish digestion
🌿 Supporting relaxation and restful sleep
🌿 As a bitter digestive tonic
🌿 Supporting menstrual comfort

One of the things that makes Blue vervain especially interesting is its bitter taste. In herbalism, bitter herbs are often used to support digestion and stimulate appetite and digestive secretions.

Blue vervain can be prepared in several ways, including as an herbal tea/infusion, tincture, or liquid extract. It’s also commonly combined with other herbs in formulas.

As always, herbs can have contraindications or interact with medications, so it’s important to learn about a plant before incorporating it into your routine. 🌿

Want to explore Blue vervain for yourself? You can find it at Green Goddess House of Herbs. I’m there every Friday (just not this one lol), but come say hey to the owner, Sue, and explore the shop. 💚

And be sure to follow Green Goddess House of Herbs for more herbs, herbal education, and what’s happening in the shop. Green Goddess House Of Herbs

What herb should we explore next? 👀

Real-time customer review for the Turmeric Glow Bar ✨

The vibes were unmatched this weekend at the Downtown PHX Farmers Market! One of my favorite moments was having a familiar face come back for her SECOND Turmeric Glow Bar. 🥹🧡

She was so excited to tell me how much she’s been loving it, especially after trying so many different things for her skin and not getting the results she was looking for. Anddd that she’s adding it into her regular skincare routine! 🫶🏾

THIS is why I make natural, herbal-infused remedies that people can actually enjoy using, get results, and come back to because their skin loves it too. 🌿

Kristen, thank you for trusting Lune Herbals and for sharing your experience with me. Those real-time reviews mean so much. 💚

Have you tried the Turmeric Glow Bar yet? 👀
