When a rural hospital needs to transfer a patient, the hardest part is often not the clinical decision. It is finding out who has a bed, who will accept, and how the patient gets there.

Too often that means a nurse or physician making call after call, one hospital at a time, while the patient waits.

Neutral, regional transfer coordination changes that. One place to call. Shared visibility into who has capacity. A team whose job is getting the patient to the right care, no matter which system the bed belongs to.

No single hospital can solve this alone. It takes hospitals, EMS, and state partners working from the same picture.

Strong partnerships make meaningful healthcare transformation possible.

Blackbox Healthcare Solutions Co-Founder Charley Larsen had the opportunity to spend some time with Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs this evening and talk about the work happening across our state.

We appreciate the continued engagement of the Governor’s Office with AZ REACH and the broader effort to improve access to care for Arizonans, particularly those in rural and underserved communities.

AZ REACH is built on a simple idea: zip code shouldn’t determine whether a patient can access the care they need. Making that vision work requires collaboration across hospitals, clinicians, state agencies, Tribal partners, healthcare organizations, and community leaders.

We’re proud to be part of that work and grateful for the many partners across Arizona who continue to move it forward.

We’re proud to announce that Blackbox Healthcare Solutions has been selected to help the Indiana Department of Health establish its statewide Medical Operations Coordination Center (MOCC) through the Rural Health Transformation Program.

This innovative program will bring hospitals, EMS, and other partners together to improve visibility into capacity and coordinate patient transfers - helping rural Hoosiers reach the right care at the right time. We’re beyond excited to begin this work with Indiana’s healthcare and emergency response communities!
